The way Apple claims they update old devices is highly disingenuous.
When old phones like the iPhone 5 get the supposed next update, they aren't really getting the same thing the new phones get. They're getting some shitty number bump and maybe a coat of UI paint but none of the actual improvements or features the update is supposed to have.
With Android when you get an update, you get the fucking update with all the improvements and features. Not to mention all sorts of things that don't need an entire OS update to improve like system apps.

P.S iOS 11 Drops anything <5s but that may seem alright, consider this. Before chopping them off entirely they cripple the device slightly to make sure you'll buy the newest toy. "Muh supported list" is actually incorrect. My iPad Air died from a screen shatter about a month or two ago and it was running 10.2 , thats the slowest I have ever seen it perform during its lifespan. It came with 7 so seeing it get so far iss great but I wish they'd cut support earlier for the devices to retain their speed.
