While lurking these threads, I realized that people here were claiming moral high ground against the "cartel", which was partly justified due to the actions cartel have taken in the past. The thing is, it is partly wrong too.

People discover other's hypocrisy through observation, and naturally, develop a personal grudge against their opponents. People work for eliminating that hypocrisy, often take unethical actions for that purpose, and justify that by pointing out the wrongdoing of their opponents.

For example, people who stood for equality had a purpose, they seeked for a world where women also had the fundamental rights as men. They succeeded but their justification of defending their ideology got deprecated. These people started seeking new moral grounds, they searched for an enemy and they couldn't find it. This pushed them into creating artificial enemies to themselves, which was in this case, "cis white man" and claimed they stood for additional rights for LGBT people. They started taking absurd and wrong actions, and they were unable to observe their hypocrisy because they were blinded by idea of eliminating their recently crafted enemy. The ones who stood against inequality, became the perpetrators themselves.

The people who stood against the rogue equality seekers, who dubbed themselves as alt-right, observed the hypocrisy of these people and started voicing their opinions against them. They investigated large corporations, uncovered human rights violations and vast corruption these people are responsible for.

Retention is good for the torrents which are there, but there are much more torrents on a given public tracker which would never feature on a private one. If a torrent can be found on a private tracker, its public version is usually well seeded.

Quality is better, but that's a function of having fewer bad torrents, not having more good ones. If you know what you're looking for you can find as good or better quality torrents on public trackers.

Community and requests are true, sure, but if even a fraction of the effort expended on them would be invested in public trackers, you'd have a much better landscape overall. There's been virtually zero innovation since 2003 except for Popcorn Time.

.srt files are for dialogue, I can download nearly any rip and demux the dialogue subs. I want the signs subs, which are usually hardcoded and in .ass format if not.

I'm going to be as transparent and as honest as i can be.
I know how pissed off most of you guys get when its down, i do too, i was so pissed off at it i didn't even bother to change the status page, we probably could have had a better start, and sure every bug and downtime that happens does give us more knowledge to stop it next time, i totally understand how you feel. Sometimes its working fast and perfectly and other time shit goes to hell and its broken, usually happens when im the only one online but i don't know how to fix most of the problems, i just try to guess as much as i can and try to fix it. It seems the scraper was causing all the issues right now and nyaapantsu is working very fast because its turned off. I can't guarantee its the only problem or if it won't go down again soon, PantsuDev is going to some time to come back so idk when hell be able to fix it properly.
