Talking to staff more than necessary: Same reason as above. Don't give them any reason to ban you. If you rustle a staff member in any way, causing them to ban you, the entire staff will rally behind them even if they wouldn't have personally banned you themselves. It's the mod's word against yours, you can never win.
Being confrontational with staff: Simply assume they are always right, even (and especially) when you point out that they are wrong.
In short, either keep a low profile or suck staff's dick, as with all sites.

The reason why the music and book trackers are deliberately hard is because there are music and books being released all the time. Stuff like Indie that you are extremely unlikely to find anyone else who has even heard of it, let alone someone who is going to upload it.

So what do they do?

Give everyone a shitload of a hard time in finding ratio so newfags are forced to buy things or fill requests to survive. And put invites in the forum as a carrot so they want to do it and then all the music fans get tons of new releases. The trick is that most people aren't going to be downloading easy to find music off RED or something like that, just the rare stuff they can't find anywhere else.

It's surprising that RED is harder than Bibliotik because books are so damn hard to get your hands on - for one they are extremely expensive and for the second, even having photographs of a book is better than not having it at all, as opposed to music which anything can be found on youtube in a low bitrate if you are desperate.

Download speeds on the newest update are on par with uT's, at least for downloading torrents with a lot of seeders, haven't tested it with torrents with a few seeders yet though.
