Could anyone give me a run down on routing traffic? My location is in the pacific on a island and I used to get really good ping in League of legends about 60-70ms (great for location). About a two years ago they moved the server to chicago which increased it to 120ms which is pretty bad. I was wondering if I could play in the Japan server which is actually a bit closer but when I try I get 220ms.

Now I looked at the internet infrastructure and it shows a line going straight to Japan from my location which is around 100 mile or so closer then the chicago server so the ping should be the same or a little better. What i'm thinking is going on is my my internet is contacting LA then routing to Japan which creates the 220ms ping.

Is there a simple way I can route my connection straight to Japan using the cable that connected directly to my island ?
>>
>>60623210
So I did a tracert and the route it takes is even more abysmal then I thought. Apparently it fucking goes to LA then to singapore before going to fucking JAPAN. No idea why its wrapping around the world when theres a line directly to Japan.
>>
>>60623363
your ISP probably doesn't pay to use that line.
or it just might just be private and not open to use for them.
>>
>>60623363
IP routing generally goes by the most capacious or cheapest path, not the shortest. It's decided by all the ISPs between you and the destination, you can't choose how it's routed;

There is only 2 ISPs over here so is it possible the other uses it or is could it be a unused line? Also that previous trace was incorrect. I couldn't find the JP league ip so I used dotas but Dota has theres in singapore.

The actual route my ISP uses to a tokyo server is my place to LA then wraps around back to my island towards australia then to Japan. Still a fucked up route to take.

Could this direct line to Japan be totally unused?

I'm considering picking up a computer tomorrow, with an ASUS P6T motherboard, which is LGA1366; ASUS' website doesn't say it's compatible with, for example, Xeon X5650 CPU. If it lists no compatibility, is it that they haven't tested it? Or would it be that it's incompatible?
PCPartPicker doesn't seem to have the X5650 in their CPU listings, which means I can't check there for compatibility. Is there a website, or some other way, to know if it'd be compatible? I mostly wanted to know as the CPU the motherboard comes with is an i7 920, which, while not exactly bad, isn't the greatest thing, and unless overclocked a bit, apparently performs a little worse than my current CPU (i3 3250)
I'd just like to know if I could possibly get a Xeon X5650 (example), instead of shelling out a fair bit more for the i7 970/980

Does anyone know how you're supposed to interpret the graphs OCCT spits out of its 'Power Supply' tests?

When I do it, it runs fine for like 5 seconds, then the framerate tanks and my computer starts making clicking noises which I guess aren't particularly healthy, so I just cancel the test. I can't tell if it's the GPU or PSU making the sound.

My PC worked fine for the last year or two, its just over the last month or so it's been crashing under load or freezing entirely.

Can you guys give me a speedy summary on bitcoin real quick?

I went to bitcoin.org and chose the "bitcoin core" because it said it was the most secure and it wants to download 200GB worth of shit? Isn't this stuff supposed to work on cell phones too?

I don't want to do anything fancy or illegal, there are just a couple things I want to buy and I don't want to have a permanent record on my credit card history or PayPal. Of course, getting at least a basic grasp on the "cashless future™" can't hurt either.

So extending it with a 2m cable should work, right?
Or would it be better getting a 4m cable and just replace it entirely?
>>
>>60625556
>I don't care about being traceable
I think you should, at least to some extent. Imagine the extreme situation:
>same, highly unique, username everywhere
>you mention your username on some service relevant to the discussion at hand to some coworker
>some time later the coworker is chatting with your boss and maybe that service is discussed again, and say your coworker ends up mentioning it to your boss, as a side remark to the conversation or something
>your boss doesn't take much note, but some time later he's bored, remembers your username and decides to look you up
>find all your porn site accounts/theDonald racism/waifu shitposting/whatever - I'm sure you have SOME questionable things in your online record, given that you're on 4chan of all places
>yfw

This scenario isn't particularly likely, but it doesn't require any particular malicious action against you, just a few unfortunate coincidences. If someone actually wants to trace you, they'd need much more relaxed preconditions - e.g. if you have highly unique, slightly different but still similar usernames, that will stick out and then they can dig and see if e.g. you ever mentioned any personal info (age, general location/occupation...) on those accounts - if what you said matches, well, there's a very strong chance 23-year-old GentooButtDiddler from northern Maine who has a good grasp of programming is the same person as 23-year-old GentooButtholeDildo69 from northern Maine who works as a software developer.

I want to use WampServer but it says Microsoft HTTPAPI/2.0 is using port 80. I have looked up several solutions like disabling the Web Deployment Service and the SQL Reporter service but none of them are there. How do I fix this?

Here's the pasta for when I test port 80:

***** Test which uses port 80 *****

Test for TCP
Your port 80 is used by a processus with PID = 4
The processus of PID 4 is 'System' Session: Services
The service of PID 4 for 'System' is 'N/A'
*** ERROR *** This service IS NOT from Wampserver - Should be: 'wampapache64'

Test for TCPv6
Your port 80 is used by a processus with PID = 4
The processus of PID 4 is 'System' Session: Services
The service of PID 4 for 'System' is 'N/A'
*** ERROR *** This service IS NOT from Wampserver - Should be: 'wampapache64'

Your port 80 is actually used by :

I have an RX 470 that I recently added to a PC I built in 2014, which has an FX 6350 for the CPU, and I have a 620W Seasonic PSU powering it all.

Almost every game I play seems to crash within an hour, sometimes in as little as 5 minutes. The Radeon settings program/driver crashing alongside this. I'm wondering if this is a problem with my card using too much power for my PSU to handle?

How do I intentionally destroy a graphics card in such a way that the manufacturer/shop won't be able to tell it was intentional?

My 980ti is fucked, but it's an intermittent problem and I know for sure if I send it back to the store they'll test it for five seconds claim it works just fine and send me it back. I know this because I received a DOA CPU from them once, sent it back, they tested it as (((working))), sent me it back again and it was still DOA.

No point in getting a GTX 970 at this point in time, unless you can find a used one for really cheap (like $130 and under). GTX 1060 (preferebly the 6 GB) model should be attainable at that price, I think.

Which GPU did you have before? Did you clean the old drivers before installing the new ones? Have you tried different driver versions? Your PSU should be more than sufficient, so that either leaves a faulty GPU or buggy drivers.

>>
>>60626619
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think a non-matching group consumes the characters it matches, but can't be found by checking the groups in a given match. A lookaround doesn't consume the characters at all.

So for instance if you have text "ab", /^(?:a)b/ will match, whereas /^(?=a)b/ will not.

I am not 100% sure this is correct though, so go to like regex101.com and come back to yell at me if I'm wrong.

same problem with a different mouse, also normal scrolling works fine, it's just when I middle click, it starts to scroll but then just stops dead as though I middle clicked again

I noticed that as pages load, it works fine, but once a page finishes loading, it completely stops. This leads me to believe it's an extension or script interfering but all I have are Ublock origin, https everywhere, and a couple adblocking scripts + X-links

Tried disabling them all one at a time, but no dice, no matter what I still encounter this problem

Are you certain that it's your PSU making the clicking noise and not a broken or stuck GPU or a CPU fan? Could lead to frames tanking due to throttling and finally crashing due to improper cooling of either component.

What is the exact model of the PSU? What GPU and CPU are you using?

So it turns out that my Lenovo y700 died today, the HDD became unbootable after only a year and a half of use. I suspect it was because of the Radeon R7 overheating in excess of 70C and melting the paste or some shit like that.
Should I just replace it, or would it be easier and more cost-effective to keep the laptop, swap out AyyMD for a card that doesn't overheat as much (maybe a GTX 1050), and put in a new HDD?
If I get a replacement, I'm definitely leaning towards a desktop this time around because fuck convenience and mobility if it means having twice the longevity for parts. I doubt I'll get anything from Dell though, because after doing some browsing the only rig I can find that has what I need for gaming is an (((Alienware))) with a price tag of 3000$+. I've been looking at a nice little number on CyberPower that has the same shit for 1100$, and it seems to be promising. Here's the rig, r8: https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saved/1JQFT5
>>
>>60627521
70C isn't anywhere near overheating for a laptop GPU, they're usually designed to be fine up to the 90s.

If it's just the HDD that's dead, replace the HDD.

Under load/gayming it's usual for my CPU to heat up in the 60-65+s (7700k). So with that in mind, isn't the step 5 a bit too late? I've monitored myself a lot and basically, let's say on BF1, the CPU would usually be around 55-60°C and jump to the 65 or so from time to time when a lot happens - does that mean step 5 isn't constant when gayming and I should bring it closer to step 4 to have it activated at all time? Could I get better temps doing so? What do you guys recommend?

Sorry for the quality, taken with my 3DS.

I want to be able to play music on my android device while it is streaming music to a bluetooth speaker. How do I go about doing this? Pls respond
>>
Running Ubuntu 16.04

My current wireless and bluetooth card is a broadcom, which is notorious for being awful. My wireless works but not bluetooth.

If I purchase a USB bluetooth adapter, will that suffice so that I can finally use my bluetooth headphones with my laptop?

My computer got stuck at a black screen for several hours after installing some driver updates (windows) and now won't boot from my SSD. If I boot from my hard drive, the SSD shows up, and it looks like all my data is still there, but trying to boot from it bluescreens with the error INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. How can I boot from SSD again?

Anyone else been getting pop-ups with a command prompt that lasts for 0.01 seconds lately? Gotten it on both my stationary computer as well as my laptop. Asked in another thread and someone else had also experienced this. Both computers use Windows.

No cryptolocker author would be insane enough to JUST things up like that. I'd wager updates, they often include .bat/.cmd files which only move/rename files etc and terminate on completion which takes ~1 frame.

Is it possible to, for example, use Intel iGPU to play games and send image to nVidia GPU which sends it to monitor(and vice versa) on GNU/Linux? I'd like to use both my iGPU and GPU. BTW, I'm using proprietary nVidia driver.

I don't think I phrased that right, I mean drivers for the motherboard.

Everything boots fine but none of the mobo ports work.

you could, but it'll be quite low quality

No. Download SD rips (300mb/45mins) of whatever you want to watch and wait the 10 minutes is your best bet.

he said stream and mentioned upload, he's clearly talking about uploading streaming video, not downloading rips

I ordered the pizza the other day, and something about the tone of the guy on the phone weirded me out, so when the delivery guy got to my door I made him come in and told him I wouldn't accept the pizza until I saw him eat a random slice of my choosing in front of me. He said it was against policy and refused no matter what I said, eventually taking the pizza back to the shop with him without payment. Did I dodge a bullet there?

No,you're a sperg and should kill your self

Why would i go in to some random fat basterds house?
>>
>>60630093
He didn't take issue with coming into my house (well, coming into the entry way at least) just with eating the slice of pizza I offered him. Clearly if the pizza hadn't been tampered with in some way he shouldn't have any reason to refuse a free slice of pizza, should he?
>>
>>60630113
No,he would then get in trouble with his boss cause you would call and tell his boss that he ate part of the pizza when he presented it to you.

How do you know he liked the type of pizza you had? What if he is on a controlled diet? What if he just dosent like pizza?
You're a fucking sperg.

Does disabling telemetry and blocking those IP's from your router actually do anything for windows 10 or am I just doomed if I want to use it to play games? I can get it for free legally. I'll only use that part of the OS for gaming, I'll use linux or hackintosh for everything else. I know how bad microjew wants my hentai but they can't have it.
