Soon I intend to take a vacation to a large city. I am worried about my phone getting stolen. I'm not worried that data will be compromised, but I don't want to have to spend money on a new phone. Does /g/ have any suggestions for keeping technology safe during travels or just everyday life?
Everything important in the front pocket.
Don't let anyone see if you have a good phone.

After the potential thief sees how poor you are he will attempt to give you a new, better laptop

I'm not small, but that doesn't prevent my things from being stolen.

works p.well, i have mine installed so that even if the phone is wiped it'll reinstall itself. it's also invisible so they can't see that it's installed either.
feels good man

thanks anon, but it's more the hassle of getting a new device than the data that would be lost.

Why the fuck would you bring all of those for a vacation? Bring a cheap and simple phone with long battery life and a camera.

Don't act like a tourist, i.e. don't walk around with a map sticking out of your fannypack while looking confused. If you have a nice camera, put some tape over that CANON or NIKON branding.
Cover your phone with chocolate smears and keep it inside your underwear at all times.
The only truly safe way to not get your phone stolen

some general advice: if you think the risk of getting robbed is greater than usual, don't take unnecessary stuff (like laptops, tablets or cameras if you don't feel you'll strictly need them), in a lot of places tourists are targeted so try your best not to look like one, also most of the time they'll pick shit right out of your pocket or bag so use inside pockets and don't put your valualbe shit in a bag and carry it around.

What are you doing during your vacation? Do you *need* a laptop? I brought one with me last on a trip last month and it sat in the hotel room the entire week unused. My iPad took care of any computing needs I had.

Step 1. If at your destination niggers be, traveling elsewhere is the key
