Nobody here can speak on everyone's behalf. There isn't a single reason to use Linux over Windows, or vice versa. You know this already, so stop pretending to be retarded in order to bait.

I use Linux because I grew up with it, used it for university and use it at work. That's my personal reason to use Linux.

From an objective point of view, it runs on a gorillean platforms and is well-suited as a server os, embedded os, super computer os, mobile os, etc. It's more customisable, every part of it is can be swapped interchangeably.

It's free as in freedom, and open source.

It has way more applications and libraries, more than you can imagine. People like to focus on cherrypicked applications such as specific games, or specific video/photo editing software, or specific CAD programs, but in reality, there is a larger variety of software and drivers out there for even the most obscure purpose.

It's objectively a better os, not only as an allrounder but also for specific tasks.

Nobody is saying that you personally should use this os or that os. Use whatever you want, and don't care what fucking names the children on /g/ call you. They are literally a bunch of random strangers, what the fuck do you care?

Long answer: In some areas it's way better. Mostly areas you wouldn't or shouldn't care about. Some things a normie faggot like you might care about is that it doesn't spy on you like Windows, it's free (as in it doesn't cost $ and open source), also free programs that can do more or less what "professional" and expensive programs do, none of the people that the guys who write viruses target use linux so their are no* viruses (rarely any to the point that it might as well be none).

It's fucking not. I'll be nice and assume you aren't a retard and just got caught off guard by not being able to double click things. It's different yes, but so is the way people wipe their asses. Both using a gui interface and the terminal achieve the same thing. However if you give the terminal a shot I think you will find it is not only very simple but also quicker in most cases.

Linux is patched daily. This means when you discover hitting backspace 28 times unlocks any linux system it's patched in less then a day. None of this hoping Microsoft will go back and patch legacy software.

Long answer: No, gaming is not here yet. At least not for AAA gaming. That isn't to say there isn't a ton of options and it's not better then ever. But it's not on the same level as windows yet. There are a ton of options to play games that are only on Windows on linux but just dual boot and save yourself some time.
