Imagine you have 50 release nodes on your client, that is 50 JSON files it needs to request. When I search my database I'd rather have it search instantly. New releases on pubsub are added to your local database as soon as it gets them. If you really wanted to, you could extend on this functionality to have certain shows download as soon as they release.

PubSub is quite simple and the benefits are great, requesting all the JSON files every search would be slow and inconvenient, especially for people with trash tier internet like myself.

For a few more lines of code to add in this simple feature, I think it is well worth the time.

I don't think you understand how my idea works. Images 50 different IPFS daemons run by different groups. Their IPNS hash links to the latest JSON dump of releases, which is updated when new releases are out. This JSON file contains an array of objects which have a release name, file size, ipfs hash and a magnet link (since ipfs is still changing, magnets offer an alternative that won't change).

Even so, if it listed 50 folders that is still 50 folders I need to traverse before I can actually use the data gathered. PubSub will submit the data as soon as it comes out in a simple object that just gets added to the local database. Done deal, no need to make unneeded requests to releases nodes. Just think, if the release node hasn't released anything you are making a request to them that will simply return exactly what you have in your own database, unneeded. If you get an event from PubSub you don't need to make any requests, you can search your local database instantly and see new releases, have push notifications if you really wanted to. PubSub is the way the go and I don't understand why you want to request a bunch of files individually, that may not have even been updated, for every search query.
