Having an issue with local lag spikes and not finding an answer. Would appreciate some input because it's driving me crazy.

I'm running Win10 (build 15063.138) with a Qualcomm Atheros AR938x wireless adaptor, which I did update the driver for with no improvement.

Yeah, I know... not ideal... but that's not the cause. I have determined such by testing other devices sat in the same spot in my flat; all other devices on my 5GHz connection maintain a steady 2-4ms ping to the router.

Any ideas what might be causing it? My google fu is rather failing me.

would it make sense to be down to the card?

The laptops I tested had much cheaper network cards so it seems odd that it would be about card quality.

I'll test with 2.4ghz shortly to see if thjat has the same ping issues

It is most likely some sort of hardware issue. Unless you have something that is send bursts of interference only for that one device. Which yes sounds stupid. So chamge the hardware of tjat device and see what happens.
