you do have a point, though i can tell this is a shitpost, but for uni, most laptops will do just fine at what theyre meant to do. the real beauty in using a thinkpad is the superior ergonomics, flexibility in software (that is to say it has great lignux support le gentoo meme), reliability and strength. its just a really good value laptop you cant really go wrong with. theyre also really well priced.

but really any laptop will do for uni lol, its not like the worlds fate depends on your computer not crashing, which is what memepads are for.

If your system boots for 4-5 minutes it's most likely not startup items that cause the problem, and if, then it's probably just one of them, so you'd need to selectively enable one by one to pinpoint the offending item. Wasn't the boot drive switched to PIO mode by any chance (can be verified in the device manager, SATA controller properties).
