The website code itself isn't a crime since all it is doing is setting up a torrent site which in itself isn't illegal. The crime would sit on the person hosting the data who chooses to use it for something criminal.
Is kinda like how emulators aren't illegal but can be used to play pirated games. Unless you are saying anyone working on emulators is also assisting crime for allowing piracy?

That's actually an interesting idea. But one issue is that on average DHT nodes are fairly short-lived so magnets would have to be generated on-demand by a server that keeps track of DHT nodes that are alive.

Most torrent sites don't operate torrent clients or DHT nodes at the same time. So there's a certain mismatch to making this work in practice. On the other hand, for the nodes in torrents to work well similar things are needed. But I think almost nobody uses those either.

In the end it's probably best if the client just had some UI where you can add a bootstrap node.

Damn, you gamurs really do have a way of overhyping everything.

IRC was never marketed towards normal people. The closest thing were some rooms in the 90s but those were overshadowed by MSN/ICQ.

Tox was supposed to be the holy grail and was supposed to kill Skype. Instead we got a donation scandal, some flame war about the domain and ceased development. Great home grown /g/ project.

Sure thing buddy, and WL is just a bunch of PDFs too.

>Tox was supposed to be the holy grail and was supposed to kill Skype.
There has been a bunch of attempts to kill Skype but all have failed. I don't see people using Jabber/Hangouts/FaceTime as much as Skype. Just like 99% of the people is still using mp3s. Popular shit is hard to kill, something like when Google dropped flash from YT to kill it would need to happen to kill Skype. Which for some reason keeps getting shittier every update.

>Instead we got a donation scandal, some flame war about the domain
So people tried to take advantage of the situation, big whoop.

>ceased development
Say what?
https://github.com/TokTok/c-toxcore
>>
>>60254276
Man, you really think some guy in his basement whipping up claims is the next Snowden or Manning?

And attempts to kill Skype have went through. FaceTime and Discord are pulling major gains from Skype by leeching off their users, demographic by demographic. Hangouts was a massive failure due to Google's already fragmented messaging platform and the fact that it was worse on it's native platform than on iOS. You don't need to be a corporation to get Skype, your product just has to be better, and it has definitely worked for Discord.

The person that took over the domain and the other person who stole donations for himself wasn't just "people who tried to take advantage of the situation", they were people the lead dev was stupid enough to trust because "hurr my community of /g/ autists".

And yes, when I do say "ceased development", you already know I'm talking about the burning disaster as the irungentoo repo, which is the one that /g/ retards started. And by the looks of the fork itself, it looks slow in terms of development and doesn't look prod ready.

Hangouts is continuing to be a failure even with Google forcibly "un-fragmenting" by closing down the other solutions and tools because it is just shit as compared to even XMPP.

Nobody wanted it because it's like it's trying to get reluctant people to be more like people that DO want all their life out in the open to get attention. Minus many things appealing to attention whores and their stalkers and fans.

So they almost predictably got no users.

Solutions (either):
- Use chocolatey or such, it's more comfy because it arranges / manages binaries more like they are on Linux.

- Fix your PATH system env variable to include the binary with the winderp method of arranging binaries.

- Just always use the full path to the go binary.

- Install Gentoo.

I mean except by some turbo autist that has been railing against DHT since at least 4 threads back.

Just get the book "distributed systems" and read up on how and why DHTs work and are better than trackers.
>>

It's more than just one autist. I'm not sure why but a lot of private tracker retards were anti-DHT and told a lot of people to disable it.
>>
>>60263132
> private trackers are against it
Because any autist with the hash can download a DHT-enabled torrent from any peer. Trackers tell you to disable it so that you don't seed to assholes who use this loophole to try and leech off you (and accidentally falsify your ratio in the process, because your torrent client doesn't know the difference between legit downloaders and DHT leeches, so it submits both to the tracker).

I fucking love you. I was 100% expecting to be last measure'd or something but it actually worked.

I'm going to share this file around, I hope you keep it up.

Nice try but no. I'm >>60259392

For all I know there is malware or some shit on the download, but as long as my nyaa is working anon can have my $0 bank accounts
>>
>>60263505
keep dreaming.
I use gohugo as my main CMS.

Yeah Go is nice, but nowhere close to C++

So it will be exactly the same as TT.
Dead on arrival. Just stop now or change.

Torrent sites are unusable imo if you can't see torrent activity to see if a torrent is dead without fucking downloading them all.
>>
>>60263729
>hating TT
Daiz detected

>>60263729
>Oh noes, instead of having an inaccurate and roundabout guesstimate about the torrents stats I actually have to click the mouse once and wait a few seconds to get a completely accurate details about the torrent.

Not the point fuckballs.
WHEN THE FUCK WILL ALL THE MISSING SHIT BE HOARDED BACK?
WHERE SWILL 1301-1400 BE UPLOADED?
WHO THE FUCK IS STALKING AND CONTACTING RANDOM NECKBEARDS WHO HOARDED EVERYTHING TO PROVIDE THEIR BACKUPS TO FILL THE MISSING SHIT?
WHO THE FUCK IS CONTACTING THE WELL KNOWN UPLOADERS TO GET TO THIS SITE AND HAVE A VERIFIED TITLE?
>>
>>60263569
I will, not like I'm lacking storage space on MEGA. Also I'd recommend you tell any people who get that file from you that they should check the project page for official windows builds in the future, since I did this more as a one-time-thing to help out an anon, and I don't intend on uploading any newer builds with any kind of frequency.
>>60263645
The worst thing in that download might be an outdated nyaa database dump (couldn't be arsed to find a newer one).
>>
>>60263784

They won't, they just go to streams.
>>
>>60263873
well guess you just got volunteered for those tasks.

>>60263891
>streams
not even owning the data, lol.
Thats like 200% normalfaggotery.
>>
>>60263873
I dunno man. That anon never grabbed 1301-1400. I'm not sure if anyone has those.
>>
>>60250334
Is this already completely seeded, last time I check it was like at 95%
>>
>>60264099
Yup. I'm seeding it right now and will do so forever.
>>
>>60263784

Close is better than nothing. Sorting by seeds is important too. Especially for jav.
>>
>>60263645
>>60263883
Okay I lied, since there has been some recent development I'll do one more build. Install and run it the same way you did with the previous one. Same MEGA link as previously (https://mega.nz/#F!i8Q0gS4D!QezPcydw0t-6AYddBmG9TA).
The nyaa-g1d8bfa9.zip file is the newer one.
>>
>>60264152
just add them all and delete those that do not show seeders after a while.

Or pantsu could implement a script that counts how often a magnet link has been clicked in the last X amount of time to give an estimate how popular that torrent is (and thus how many people are probably seeding it).
>>
Does anyone have a link to the most recent available DB dumps?
>>
>>60263883
You should just suggest that your build be added to the project page as an (un-official) build for now. I'm sure that'd help reach more people than me telling my handful of friends.

Once again though, I appreciate it.
>>60264196
What's the improvement on this one? Newer database?
