You do realize some people use their personal computers for things other than games, yes? R7 line isn't targeted at gaming. It's for intense multi-threaded applications.

Now if you're complaining that a $180 CPU is barely 5% worse in games than Intel's $350 OC'd alternative, you might just have a problem in the head. Ryzen is doing amazing, the performance/dollar is unreal, and Intel better have an answer for it soon.
>>
>>60158902
The sole reason these two companies are still afloat today is because of PC gaming.
>>
>>60158912
In your world, maybe. Outside of your bedroom, there's hundreds of thousands of companies worldwide that need computers for a living. Many of them need high performance CPUs, too. Maybe one day if you mom let's you out of the house, you too will realize that.
Now fuck off back to /v/ with shitty threads and posts.

Why do you think so many games get sponsored by graphic cards?

Games force ppl to upgrade if they want to play them.

Why is it that so many Ryzen benchmarks NEVER show really CPU intensive games where you can actually see the performance difference?

Benchmarks such as these create a false image of the product and will make people think that the difference is only a few FPS, like it's insignificant.

They should use the FFXIV benchmark tools, those are great to simulate CPU heavy games such as MMOs. GTA5 and Hitman are also CPU intensive and in all of those the Ryzen falls flat.

Lol? Keep being deluded.
>>
>>60161824
I'm disgustingly reminded of people who use day 1 benchmarks of a 480 against a 1060.

Though I can't completely blame Nvidiafags, each driver update might as well brick their card.

>>
>>60161824

perfectly proves it.

Besides, check out those benchmark sharing threads on the ffxiv forums if you care so much about it, the gtx 1060 gets around that 12k score, a 1070 is around 14-15k and a 1080 should be 18k+.

So that image you shared isn't a good comparison since the GTX 1060 can only push out so much performance.

And Stormblood comes out in less than two months, the benchmarking tool is already out. What are you saying, that they didn't optimize the benchmarking tool or something? It's seperate from the main game you dumb shitter.
>>
>>60161908
It only proves that there's a lack of toplogy fix present in the benchmark for Ryzen, as expected since the game is a few months from release.

What exactly is your intention? In heavensward there's a small difference but you completely ignore it for a beta game, as if numerous games haven't been patched for Ryzen already.
>>
>>60161489
don't pair nvidia with AMD, nvidia intentionally cripples performance when you do
>>
>>60161939
Are you actually retarded or just pretending? The benchmark you sent is LIMITED by the GPU.

It is like benchmarking the latest DOOM with a 1800x and a 7700k on a GTX 480. There won't be much of a difference. I swear people like you should just shut up if they have no idea what the fuck they're talking about.
>>
>>60161961
>We tested at 1080p Boarderless Windowed mode at low (Standard Laptop) preset settings. This way the GPU was not the limiting factor.

[autistic screeching intensifies]
>>
>>60161939
>What exactly is your intention?
Shilling, the number of games with bugged ryzen performance has dropped to one third from launch, so Intelfags are really desperate for even beta games.
>>
>>60161961
>The benchmark you sent is LIMITED by the GPU.
Gaming is always limited by the GPU dingus.
it's 1070 only the complete retards chase 200FPS in CS:Go when 4k monitors and 4k GPUs are becoming a thing.

>>
>>60162053
I see you've got no more on the FFXIV issue, that's cute.

Hey, hey, wanna see something funny?
Intel reported a -12.6% revenue drop in Q1 2017 in the Client Computing Group, the same quarter where they released Kabylake laptops and desktop in January 3rd, so an entire full quarter of revenue from a new gen and they still lost more than the last Q4>Q1 transition that didn't have a full quarter of revenue on a new CPU.

Isn't that hilarious?
>>
>>60158814

Name an example of serious heavy single thread workload.
Everything that matters rocks on 8 cores.
>Ryzen is adequate and competent for gay men
>Ryzen wins in mixed workload like streaming/recording
>Ryzen wins in heavy workloads like content creation, simulations, rendering, CAD, CFD structural analysis, dynamic analysis whatever.

Playing CS:GO in 640*480 on a Titan Xp is as good as a synthetic benchmark, nobody really does that.

Hell, even 40 fps in 4k on lows is a better experiencebetter than 100fps in 1080p.
The fidelity and crispness of the picture is a fucking superb experience, once you go 4k you never go back.
All those 100+ fps gay men is a jewish conspiracy to sell the old shitty TN panels that nobody would ever buy other vice because they are shit.
>>
>Gets BTFO by Ryzen 5 in almost every [game] scenarios.
Fixed for you.

Want a cheap CPU for gaming? You will probably be just fine with Ryzen 3, considering how thing goes. Then put the extra $100 or more into the GPU, done.
>>
>>60162687
Minimums are better on higher thread CPUs though
>>
>>60162475

>Name an example of serious heavy single thread workload.

You're being retarded because you don't understand the correct question to ask. Sayinmg gaming is gpu limited because games can use multiple cores is retarded. There are many instructions that a cpu will do - you saturate a cpu with enough of them and that will be the limiting factor - even if every thread is crunching the same data as not all stages in a cpus (or gpus) pipeline are as fast as others.

You can easily bring any hardware down - even with most of a chip sitting idle - if you hit it just so.
