the real solution to the internet problems is cooperative hosting. people who are interested in a website can help host it on their machines/network (like sadpanda does). if there aren't enough (technology literate) people interested, they have to pay or it dies. it's just that simple

ads, as they exist today, come from a different time when people had no control over the content being presented to them (tv, radio)

i only connect to ip's of domains i trust, so i use adblock and noscript to prevent connections i dont trust.
when i want to support a content creator, then i donate. but that never happens
