On the desktop make a Folder
name it "Games"
drop all those games in there

It may take a second series of doubleclicking to get into it, but it will organize the fuck otu of your desktop

For all the programs that arent games and arent integral to the system:

make a folder on your desktop named "Programs"
drop all those programs in there too

Maybe leave the Adobe CS and Matlab icons on the desktop since I bet those get used a heck of alot.
