Because I noticed AB was squirreling away donations and I decided to do something about it.

I got access to the database a while back when AB was short on devs and I was helping them fix some security issues. It wasn't intentional, but they left a full copy of the production database in the source code they were showing me, presumably used to test the code on the staging server.

In full disclosure, we are not actually changing anything in the backend in regards to HnR's. We will still only be requiring 72 hours or a ratio of 0.8 to prevent an HnR. We are leaving it this way despite the rule changes to provide a bit of a buffer for users as the torrent history is sometimes lower than your torrent client. That said, if you delete a torrent that has seeded to 72 hours or has a ratio of 0.8 and get an HnR because the torrent history was not in-line with your client, it will be on you to deal with that HnR. Only if you are over 80 hours seedtime and your torrent history is considerably under that, causing an HnR, will we look into the issue and remove your Hit 'n' Run. That's not to say that we won't look into issues with the torrent history if you report them, but we do know that seedtime tends to be lower than what your client lists, and sometimes if you get a lot of upload really quickly and an announce is dropped, the upload may not be accounted for in the torrent history.

Is GGn trying to kill their tracker? Games are not like movies/series encodes or CD rips, for the most part the same file can be found on public trackers. The only thing they have to do is get people to seed long term, not discouraging them to download in the first place.
