Can't SSH from windows machine connected to local network via ethernet to a raspberry pi 3 connected to via wifi to local network.

I have run tracert in cmd yielding "request timed out."

I have successfully ssh'd to the raspberry pi using juiceSSH on my android phone which is connected via wifi.

I'm trying to SSH using Putty. I am 100% certain I'm doing SSH, correct IP correct Port. I matched everything I did on my phone, and it is just not connecting.

I got a stupid question and I'll probably get a stupid answer:

Why, after all these years, do you still come to 4chan? This site is disgusting and all the good people left. Not even saying go to fu||chan but seriously, why do you use this site still? It should be pretty obvious something is up when you have a site-wide wordfilter marking the true names of things as spam.

Because there's nowhere else to go. This is my home, or was. Even after years of it being burned to the ground by people people on the block, landlord ditching the place and a new shady landlord taking place, I just can't find a place that I can call home. There's still some glimmer of hope every now and then, but the 99% of utter shit and cancer now just makes it not worth coming here anymore.
This shanty house that housed rejects was burned down and has been rebuilt into a mental ward with actual retards smearing shit and screaming everywhere. It's no longer Home, just a "house" to hide from the recent flooding in the internet, but even then the flood still leaks in.

can you explain in more detail just what exactly is connected where?

your computer is connected via ethernet to the router, which has wireless access point that the rpi is connected to?

can you even ping your phone (on the wifi) from the ethernet connected machine?

just answer the question

what i'm trying to figure out is if your computer and raspberry pi are even on the same network.

what are the ip addresses of your devices?
>>
>>59979648
also...

PC is connected to router via ethernet. the router has wifi that the rpi is connected to.

also no... i cant ping my phone from my PC.

but i can ping my phone from my raspberry pi... no shit i guess since ssh is working between those two devices.

i keep saying weird shit because networking is foreign to me sorry.

The phone, pi, and PC are all on same router, even though pi and phone are connected via wifi while the PC is connected via ethernet.

my ip address for my pc: 192.168.0.1
ip for raspberry pi: 192.168.1.2
ip for phone 192.168.1.3
>>
>>59979806
your router may have separate subnets in the the 192.168.0.x and 192.168.1.x ranges
not sure what to do from here you'll have to check your router settings
>>
>>59979824

so my PC is connected via ethernet to an ISP provided router (or is it modem fuck), and that router is connected to a netgear wifi device. the pi and phone connect to the netgear device and the PC connect to the ISP device.

>>59979885
does the netgear device have ethernet ports?
if it does then use that and just leave the isp provided modem/router combo as a modem only

otherwise you'd need to change some kind of setting on the netgear device to act as a bridge for the modem/router

what's happening is your netgear device has a network all it's own. it is giving out ip addresses in the 192.168.1.x range, and all these devices use the netgear as the default gateway.

your ISP provided modem/router has it's own network on 192.168.0.x and the default gateway is the modem/router.

both of your devices are giving out ip addresses... the netgear device just thinks that the modem/router it's connected to is the internet at large and it doesn't want your devices available to that
>>

>>
>>59979938
if you can't change your setup you may be able to use port forwarding settings in the netgear device.
>>
>>59979938
OH SHIT. thank you so much. I honestly completely forgot that the ISP modem/router was still in use since i thought the netgear router could take the coaxial.

it's a raidz1 pool, right?

i'm guessing it's 4*3TB
a 3TB hdd is ~2.73T (TiB)
4*2.73T = 10.9T, this is the raw size of the pool, before anything is taken away by any RAID you're using
raidz1/raid5 allocates one disk worth of space for parity, striped across all disks
since parity is not "data", as far as the OS or applications are concerned, it's not counted by df, which is only concerned about user-usable space
the usable space is therefore 3*3TB, or ~8.19T
this isn't the 7.7T listed in df, my guess is that is a partition which doesn't fill the whole raid volume

tl;dr they're both correct, just looking at different perspectives

Does anyone know how to modify shared object files of an Android APK to drop info that's passed through it?

Right now I have some .so files from an Android app after decompiling it. I looked it over in IDA Pro, but I haven't into Assembly so it likes like chinese to me. But I do see that there are some functions for data.

I'm interested in adding some clause to make an SQL function drop whatever string/key that's passed through it, but its in Assembly so I don't know how to do that exactly.

Any way to convert the .so files to a higher level language like C or C++.

Also, if anyone is a l33t haxxor, please direct me to some resource about modifying APKs.

I personally want access to an App's database so I can figure out what URLs I can use to webscrape.

The URLs I've found through packet traces require instance data that I can't replicate, so I can't scrape in game data.

Obviously the processor is only one generation newer, but it's an upgrade from 2/4 threads to 4/8, and it's clock/boost clock is much higher, so it is more capable. The graphic card is moderately stronger but it's built for productivity, so in games it's hard to say which one would do better. I'm in some dire need of understanding and support.

See, I was on a vacation for a few months and when I came home, my computer started acting very slow. Mind you, I own a very high end rig, so this is pretty odd for it to stutter in this way.

I plugged in my External HDD to load up some files, but instead of reading it as a Removable Drive, it says it's a Local Disk. What's wierder is if I load websites like Tom's Hardware, it crashes my process. Same with Steam; download a game - it crashes.

I can't seem to access the Disk Management like others have suggested online, and I don't know if it's the computer or just the External HDD. What I'd also love to know is what even caused for this but one step at a time, right?

Image should help give a visual. I can't even click the Local Disk without my Explorer crashing.

Great, here I dare ask. I just bought a raspberry pi 3, and I want a clean fast OS for web browsing and music. I don't know if there's other ways, but I'll be using a microSD card. I'm not that familiar with different Linux distros, but I enjoy learning so that's not an issue.

What would you recommend /g/?

Ok, your internals don't seem to have anything wrong with them. Open you C: drive's properties, click the tools tab>error checking>Check now, select both boxes, reboot. When that's done, run sfc /scannow from admin command line. Also have crystaldiskinfo look over your external to make sure it's status is also "good", and run error checking on it too.

Why is there a limitation to volume? Is it a physical limitation, or just to keep from blowing speakers?
>>
>>59983661
The increase in "volume" comes from turning up the power of the electrical signal to the speakers. If you take it past the range the speakers are designed for, you start to get greater and greater distortion.

Not really that stupid of a question but still a question here.

I recently upgraded my PC, replaced i7 930 with Ryzen 1600x, got a new mobo, ram and GPU, etc.

Now i've replaced my old drivers with new ones and yet this awful problem appears. Everytime i want to open a program or image or whatever it has this 3 second delay.

I click my internet browser, 3 second delay.
I open a image, 3 second delay.
Want to login to my own pc from sleep mode, it takes 3 seconds before the password and user image is loaded.

Didn't experience any problems in games whatsoever but opening the programs seems to have its conflicts. Really not sure what it is.

Of course i've tried googling it, no working solution present. If anyone experienced the same problem or knows what might've caused it, then it would be of great help.

Everything's built to go up to a certain range. You don't "manually limit" a car to 120mph. You can fuck with your computer to output more juice than usual, which I suppose would be a bit like mixing racecar fuel into the tank in the analogy.

I'm gonna be installing FreeBSD on a new drive either later or tomorrow or something, but I need a bit of help with the partitioning thing.

I want like, at least 12 partitions.
I assume I will be using UFS filesystems, though maybe ZFS

Either way, I remember I did something before, once and had trouble getting several partitions.

I want like:
BOOT
FreeBSD
/var
/tmp
/usr
and then like 1-2 partitions for pics, and 1 for videos, and maybe 1-2 for music, and 1-2 for docs, and 2-3 for different programming purposes and scripts and stuff, maybe a couple for extraneous files

But, I'm going well over any kind of 4-partition limit or whatever.
IDK if I was just doing it wrong, or if there is a special way to set up a logical partition like there is in Windows

What command in gpart would I use to create a logical partition with like many sub-partitions?

Well for intensive editing a quad core processor is recommended. An SSD helps if you're editing large files, and if you notice you're frequently using all your ram while running illustrator you might consider upgrading that. But there's not much you can really change. Maybe do a clean install and avoid bloatware, and get a better copy of illustrator

If you format your bootloader, you'll have a heck of a time trying to get Windows to boot again. Install Windows on to a USB and boot from it. Go into "repair" on the welcome screen and follow this:

Then you're not formatting the drive properly. You will want to completely wipe it.

>>59987266
Maybe you should be able to delete the partition but I think you will have to do it manually using FDISK in command prompt as I think Disk Manager keeps the .efi file which has the grub bootloader information in it. You will still need to boot Windows Installation and use the bootrec utility to create a windows boot partition and file.

Debating doing the same with the mobo but its not that bad, I just don't have dust remover around

From what I've read online the q6600 is kind of hit or miss with some of these older chipsets from the core2duo era
The machine currently has a c2d e6700, so from a hardware perspective with the same FSB it should be able to run
Then it just becomes an issue of power draw. The board has a 6 pin cpu power connector but its only a 200w psu and I've already got a gt710 in it too
I'm not sure if I can do that >100w processor + 21w gpu + mobo, ram, hdd and fans without reaching a dangerous point of maxing out the psu

If you are set on 1151 then yeah, the g4560 is a really good choice, especially if you'd want to use it in something more powerful in the future.

It checks files against a list of what is known as malicious, and looks for specific types of programs that have certain permissions and do certain things to see if they may be malicious.

If it scans over something that has the ability to put advertisements over your regular content in a browser, or if it can send data somewhere else with our your permission or whatever, the program will believe its malicious and will notify you.

/g/ did I just get tricked on this purchase?

I purchased a 4 TB MyBook on eBay. The seller (high feedback, longtime member) listed this as "brand new Sealed".

However, I plugged this into my computer and while it is recognized by Disk Management and the "Safely Remove Hardware" applications (even makes the sound of a USB device plugged in), and I can hear the hard drive running, it is not recognized by my computer. And not only that, but in Disk Management it appears to have already been partitioned, with 4 "blue bar" partitions and 1 unallocated "black bar" partition

Two questions for this.

I assume WD hard drives do not come out of the box like this. Does that mean this seller inaccurately listed this as "Brand New" and it had in fact been opened and partitioned beforehand?

Will deleting all the partitions to turn them all into unallocated space allow me to format this with a Simple Volume and make it work?

Thanks for the pointers. I'm actually getting a new laptop because my current Asus laptops GPU is crapping out. Thats probably due to the same poor cooling issue.

I take it that you would recommend a generic business laptop instead? There was a Fujitsu Lifebook for a similar price and similar CPU, but without a dedicated GPU.

Would be nice if to have for muh gaymes, but maybe the HD Graphics 4600 might be enough. But before I do any purchases, I'll probably try to reflow the GPU somehow.

The HP laptop will work good enough but its up to you if you wanna run the risk.
This laptop will get way more hot than the usual because it will be using a dedicated GPU, if you buy it you will need to take really good care of it, use some high quality paste and repaste it every 2 years.

The fujitsu laptop for that price and without a dGPU doesn't sound worth it.

I want to make a bit of side money this summer so is there anything I can pick up quickly and turn it into freelance work? I'm out of school so I have literally 10 hours/day free to learn/work on something.

I was thinking of learning ruby on rails but if anyone has other suggestions I'd like to hear it.

(background: i've only done some basic web design coding in the past)

I want to move away from google DNS but i'm not super excited about using OpenNIC and sending all my DNS requests to ahmed in wisconsin. Is there a middle ground like a DNS operated by canonical or the EFF or someone mildly trustworthy?

A CPU usually has 16 PCIe Lanes and chipset has other 8(Z97 chipset) right?
