hey guys, I'm looking for a very small linear motor; is there any /g/entalmen that can point me too a stepper smaller then a nema 8.

You probably want >>>/diy/

I think OP's question is more /g/ related than diy desu
Op it might be better to make your own mechanically equivalent system from a simple stepper, as linears look to be too expensive and spec specific.

M8 are you trying to make an automated French coffee press? XDDDD

I'm making a syringe injection system, a linear motor would make my life incredibly simpler. The problem I'm having is that everything smaller then a nema 8 is essentially a toy; with terrible step angles. I programmed my arduino assuming that I'd switch from a nema 11 200 steps/rev to the equivalent linear variant, but apparently I need to go smaller.

Buy a peristaltic pump
Or this

ayy

cant go with the peristaltic pump, I have to use a syringe. the link is essentially what I'm doing, but that one is using a nema 17, I need something much smaller. at least smaller then a nema 8. It should exist, but hours upon hours of searching is leading me nowhere.
The number corresponds to the housing diameter.
In this case NEMA 8 is 0.8" diameter (for square motors the length of one side is used instead of the diameter)
That is the smallest official NEMA size, if you want something smaller, you're doing custom.

Why do you need a Nema 8 is it the housing or the torque?
You can get intricate linear motors where the motor is offset?
If not something with an integrated leadscrew is your best bet

run it through a gearbox

no this is a >>>/diy/ question

I happened to start the project with a nema 11, but for reasons, it needs to be smaller. nema 8 is just a standered size I'm using as a scale, It needs to be smaller, at at the moment its abit overkill for what I'm using it for.
That link might work though, I have to look into it more.

That would increase the size of the whole thing.

This, /g/ is for/g/reentext threads and Maki posting only
>>59979316
your trolling right

/diy/ is for actually making things.
/g/ is for linux and shitposting about consumer tech.
