This is net neutrality. This is what happens when you let the government regulate the internet.

Damn, even in Cuba they have better connection.

>Reading

Welp, maybe that's why it's so slow. They rather have you read books than browse 4chan. Just suck it up.
>>
>>59879872
And yet there was minimal competition even before net neutrality. Comcast has a complete monopoly on vast swaths of the US. Besides, those rules have been relaxed and never fully went into effect in the first place.

that's not what net neutrality is for, you idiot.
>>
>>59879872
No, this is what happens when you're a flyover faggot with one of the worst ISPs in the country.
>>
>>59879872
>implying that's net neutrality

Please, stop using words you don't know the meaning of.

Net neutrality is the agreement between customers and providers that no ISP will use traffic patterns to mitigate your bandwidth so that they can isolate certain customers due to high traffic behaviors (downloading, streaming, etc.).
>>
>>59880623
Wrong, Net Neutrality is the government mandated neutralizing of internet speeds where everyone has the same speed.
>>
>>59880660
Holy shit you're retarded. The only reason american ISPs can keep screwing people over is because shit-eaters like you let them and cheer them on
>>
>>59880660
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_neutrality
>Net neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers and governments regulating the Internet should treat all data on the Internet the same, not discriminating or charging differentially by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or mode of communication.

How much do you pay for those kind of speeds in the land down under?

Just curious don't lie please
>>
>>59879872
Who the fuck lives in Reading, MI? Are you serious? I just 90 Mbps down and 10 up from Comcast in Ann Arbor and I'm only paying for 75/10 for $40/mo
>>
>>59881148
>uni
Doesn't count.
>>
>>59881169
Those kind of speeds don't really exist outside of universities, there are a couple of ISPs that could offer you fibre in the middle of a capital city with about half that speed for $500 dollarydoos per month

Net neutrality is basically communism for Internet. Have fun getting . 5mbps forever because Jamal doesn't get any more than that
>>
>>59881210
Of all the bait itt this makes me the most mad
>>
>>59879988
Yup. Literally can only have Time Warner aka Spectrum where I live. That's it. I pay for 25mbps and get about 2, usually less. I've called them so many fucking times and they'll fix it for a day then revert it the next day. I know they're doing it on purpose, fucking with the ports and throttling me to save money since I blow through bandwidth.

Literally the only option I have in my tiny tiny town (or rather village)

But it's better than what we had before. Before this we were stuck with 4g internet, and sharing that with 3-5 devices was pure agony

It's actually weird how this is the only speed they offer here, while they have no problem giving 5x faster internet in a city 20km from here. Can anyone explain the reasoning why?
>>
>>59886619
They probably have optical fiber to the home in the city, while you're on a copper line. Although that's super slow for copper and the ping is unusually good for copper.

So maybe they are just fucking you.

>>
I read every post in this thread and I'm beginning to believe that this board is as retarded as /v/.
>>
>>59879872
do you get that speed by plug in the wall socket/power line?
>>
>>59880660
No it says that ISP's can't show bandwidth favor to some content providers/websites while throttling others. So for example Comcast wouldn't have been allowed to throttle Netflix while prioritizing their own content at high speed, but thanks to mouth breathers that voted GOP/Trump, we'll continue to get shafted by monopolistic ISP's.
