I am playing a 4K video file on a R9 390 graphics card. When I choose the image downscaling option to Jinc or SSIM it starts freezing the video while the other options such as Spline and Cubic don't seem to freeze the video. How do I fix this problem?
AYYMD HOUSEFIRES can't decode 4K

Try MPV. In terms of performance it's the exact same as MPC+MadVR, and in my experience it's more stable.

You don't need anything better than spline for downscaling, just enable AR, or mitchell without AR.
>muh placebo
just use vlc or mpv you autist

Why not better?
>>59690648
If you compare vlc to phc-hc you will see a massive difference in quality

jinc would be useful only if your 4k video is aliased. And ssim at 25% strength is pretty much the same as spline, and at higher strengths it becomes sharper than original video.

Wouldn't a shaper video be better? or is it subjective?
