In that case definitely S7, the size difference is more noticeable. Slightly shorter and slightly slimmer, plus the more rounded edges make it feel a bit smaller too. The XZ is almost as large as the OP http://www.phonearena.com/phones/size#/phones/size/Samsung-Galaxy-S7,OnePlus-3T,Sony-Xperia-XZ/phones/9817,10313,10218

I mean I don't have issues when I'm actually using the Oneplus even though I don't have very large hands, but it can feel a bit awkward when I'm carrying it in my pants. Don't know how much better the S7 feels in that regard, in the end it's only a 4 millimeter difference so I don't know if that's at all noticeable in your pocket
>>
>>59588657
>4 millimeter

Scratch that, I was looking at the inches. It's actually one centimeter taller

ZTE has USB-C, 802.11ac, dual cameras, larger screen, and off screen buttons (so more screen space dedicated to your actual screen).

Moto has US CDMA bands and ships with Nougat. And possibly more RAM if you get the more expensive version.

>>
>>59589009
I fucking hate modern phones. It's one of my most common things to bitch about with my friend. The Xperia X Compact and the Z5C before it are basically the only phones I consider to be acceptable in size, and all the cheap small phones while cheap also manage to have THICC bezels and the worst of both worlds when it comes to thickness.

As in, thick, and yet a small ass battery.

Some cheap phones are fine. The Acer T06 I bought as a cheap throwaway to tie me over after my LG G4 started bootlooping (at least until Snapdragon 835 stuff starts to hit the market) is an example of this.

Bezels are no more thicc than on the Pixel, body is no thicker than my old HTC One S yet has a removable backplate, call quality is acceptable, runs Android 6.0 (but hasn't received updates since June 2016 security patch), camera is reasonable, MediaShit processor is reasonably zippy, has SD card support, the 720p screen has better colour reproduction than my $1,300 Thinkpad X250, battery is 2000 mAh but lasts all day. Only real issue is the speaker is quiet and it only supports 3G, but for $100 Canadabux unlocked I am astounded at how good it is.

>>
>>59592187
The Max has
>worse screen
>worse camera
>worse SoC

Its literally the worst model with the only saving grace being the screen size but the resolution is shit, you'd be better off either buying the Laser or a Blade V8 Pro
>>
>>59592237
Do all regular 3s have dual sim? Sometimes the write it in the title and sometimes not
>>
>>59592284
IIRC, yes
>>
>>59592297
Will have to check it out, the black/blue version didn't look half bad

USBC would be cool
>>
>>59592311
If you find it too expensive, the ZF3 Laser is pretty good, has a decent screen and camera, and the SD 430 is a pretty decent low end SoC with QC 3.0, I have one in the phone I'm rocking now for a daily and it performs well
>>
>>59592347
It's not really about price, I'm getting a new phone from work since I'm tired of carrying around 2.
So my main need is dual sim really, and that the store we buy phones from have them.
>>
Has anyone gotten a Dtek 60?
>>
>>59592374
Oh well if work's paying for it, get the standard ZF3
>>
>>59592398
Shit, if they're willing, get a ZF3 Deluxe or Ultra
>>
>>59592398
I'm think I'm gonna do that, because it doesn't show up as dual sim in the title but it says 2 sims so I guess it's just the store being bad. I hadn't looked at it
>>
>>59592422
They have the Deluxe but only in gold, and I think it's almost too large for my liking.

If I go for the cheaper version I might hold out hope for the non-existing chance of Apple releasing a dual sim phone this fall and change to it. If I got the deluxe it might have to use it longer I guess
>>
>>59587740
Which one should I get? ZTE Axon 7, Xiaomi mi5 or Redmi Note 4?

I need a phone with a good camera and GPS (i would like to use it to navigate and register GPX tracks with some accuracy). I would also like to be able to install Lineage OS on it (otherwise I would add to the possibilities the Huawei P9 Lite as well) and I use a lot of apps, so I guess a good CPU/performance in general.

Which one is better? Also, why the hell are Xiaomi phones not on Amazon anymore? I've heard about the charger shit, did they not fix it?

Require solid no-nonsense phone.

Calls, texting, email, sync'd Outlook calendar, navigation, light browsing only (have no interest in apps unlikely to be bundled).

- Good build quality
- Expect good battery life given use profile above
- Should last several years

I basically want the phone equivalent of a ThinkPad.

UK, budget £200-300 (happy to spend less), Tesco (O2) sim only. No interest in it as a status item.

Would like to go with a dumb/feature phone in fact but I travel a lot and access to the web etc. is helpful when trying to work out how to get around places where you don't speak the language.

The situation for GSM carriers in the US isn't really much better. For one thing each carrier has their own non-standard implementation of voLTE, so not just any GSM phone will work unless you don't mind being without voice and SMS at times. T-Mobile is like this since majority of their Low band spectrum is band 12 LTE, when in one of these areas you'll be without voice and SMS coverage unless you went out of your way to buy a GSM phone that went through the certification process to have voLTE. AT&T is even worse since they refuse to certify any unlocked phones that aren't made by Apple and the only Androids that have voLTE are the AT&T branded S7 and (I think) LG G5. Of course AT&T branded phones are the worst of all branded phoned for bloatware, especially with the constant DirectTV pop-ups. Further more the GSM carriers both have shit overall coverage compared to Verizon. I've tried both AT&T and T-Mobile but always wound up going back to Verizon. Cost difference was minimal since I only do prepaid service with unlocked or used branded phones.

Is there even a reason to get a flagship phone anymore?

A few years ago the jumps in power from Smartphone to smartphone were good enough to justify grabbing the latest thing that your preferred brand spit out, but since 2014 (aside from gimmicks) the gains have been less than significant.

I just can't see a reason to drop $600+ on a new flagship anymore.

I'm on T-Mobile USA and I currently have the Samsung Galaxy S7. I don't like it. The display sucks, even though everyone praises it. I hate AMOLED displays and prefer an LCD one. Also the battery isn't that good.

I'm debating whether or not I should by the Moto G5 Plus to use for a few months until I have a chance to buy a higher end phone like the upcoming NOKIA devices or the OnePlus 4.

I need a phone with an LCD display, support for USB OTG, SD card support, good battery, and desu I prefer if the display was less than 5.5 inches. I back up my stuff to an external hard drive using USB OTG every other week, so I don't want this phone bitching out on me.

Some guy from my city is selling Samsung Galaxy S4 for 50€ and says it has no problems or anything, just little bit wear in edges and back.
Should I go for it it turns out to be the real deal and just some middle aged guy wanting to sell it?

I'm a big poorfag who wants to switch to smartphone era as my current phone is old ass Nokia 5220 from decade ago. Which is why I'm looking for used phones, I could go as high as 150€ with the price but I'd rather prefer not.
I'm looking into a phone with a very good GPS and general use regarding programs and internet (and hopefully good battery life). Games and cameras don't really interest me, I'd prefer not to have front camera at all but I guess they don't make those. I'm novice otherwise when it comes to phones obviously so I don't think I would be finding much other extensive use.

So would there be any reasonable alternatives to look into, the auction and second hand places here don't really offer lot of variety from what research I did, or are there new phones that are so cheap they're better than, say that S4 by now?

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Chink_shit_general/Phones

Make sure yours have it.

Brand new Redmi Note 4 is 190€ here, waw.
That's a lot over my budget, and can't even get it in black, hah. Is it really that good or something? Compared to 50€ S4? The features and battery do seem solid.

Thanks for the 4G tip, yeah the S5 series has one model that doesn't get 4G, S4 has a bit more differences.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_series
But as long it's base model, it should have.
>>
>>59599044
Check his S4 internal memory, 16 GB is a pain in the ass and some apps don't play well on external memory. If he owns 32 or 64 GB version, that's better.
But 50 Euro is pretty good price I guess, go for it. Galaxy S4 only doesn't have dual sim support out of the box.

My brother bought Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 recently for $155 new, online.

Pros :
64 GB internal
3 GB RAM
4000 mAh Battery
Infra Red (for TV or AC)

Cons
- Dual Sim Card Hybrid (You must choose between dual sim or micro SD). There's dual sim card converter that you can buy online though.
- BBM causes lots of lagging. Must update to newer MiUi version, 8.1.6 or something to resolve the issue
- Non removable battery
- Only 1 GB of RAM is available (2 GB is eaten by MIUI)

Nextbit Robin seems like the best sub-$250 choice for an Australian.

Flimsiness of the build could be an issue for some, but it's ROM support is great and the hardware is powerful enough to not be an issue for the next two years of so (depends if one gayms or not).

Are there equivalent, or better, phones out there spec-wise with good developer support? G4, G5, and 5X are all much more expensive in Australia. Zucc Z2 only has official support from Mokee

>>
>>59603914
Pros Ive had with it so far compared to my multiple android devices:
-No matter how smooth android was, iOS is still somehow a million times smoother in any situation. Im actually quite surprised
-Coming from a single speaker phone (oneplus 3), stereo is p. cool and loud as fuck
-Consistently faster wifi speeds and range than any of my other phones in the past
-App installs are also faster
-Battery life is way better, I was thinking it was just my oneplus 3 that had shit battery life until my friend showed me his moto droid z which lasts like 3 hours new
Meh:
-Camera, dont really notice a difference even with the two cameras on the plus
-UI I find is kinda weird to me, same with gestures and what not. Still trying to get used to no back or recents button
-The force touch home button is like really, really weird. I find myself thinking it feels like Im clicking the entire bottom half of the iPhone down which freaks me out thinking I broke the phone
-Bezel size is a little annoying, not a con in any way but something to point out
Cons:
-No headphone jack. There is no way to defend this. Its really shitty, and I barely used the jack on any other of my phones
-Lightning cable I feel is wonky compared to usb type c. Feels more fragile than it needs to be
-Apples walled garden. This is actually teetering between 'meh' and a 'con'. Ive used iTunes to buy all of my music anyway so its all there now but I cant just download anything anymore
-No webm support. There is no need for an explanation of this
So far I like it, all phones have cons and I can deal with them on this phone

I do really like the look of the keyone, when's it supposed to come out? Fucked my s7 edge and need a replacement, can't wait a long time for its release.

Can't get over that spacebar placement, though I've never used one.

>>
>>59605475
It's cute that apple users are all proud of their waterproofing. Either way, I'd take a water damaged bb over an iphone. Also, just to clarify, I don't actually have a bb.
>>
>>59605106
You can get the 6gb / 128gb version of the ZUK Z2 Pro for $276. For that price I'd pick it over the Axon 7 unless you really want the stereo speakers, Hi-fi DAC and MicroSD slot on the Axon 7. Though Axon 7 does have better custom ROM support too.

is this the best phone for its size?

Interesting. The micro sd slot is a pretty big thing for me desu. I could live without it, but would prefer it. Is 6bg ram in a phone even useable, seems like a stupid amount. My s7e had 4 and was fast af anyway

Budget: around 200$
Country:Sweden
Carrier:Telia
Size: 5" or above
Features: Most important features is a long battery time and a decent processor, also ability to easy root is a plus, however not necessary. Currently looking at the Zuk z2 and Redmi note 4, not sure which one to pick. or if other better options exist.
>>
Does the v20 normally have light bleed?
>>
>>59605717
>long battery time and decent processor
Redmi Note 4 Global is your best choice then. It has all the LTE bands needed in Europe (most chinkphones are missing B20 / 800mhz) and it will be on sale for $149.99 tomorrow

Why on earth are you proud of all that sub-par stuff? It baffles me.

I have a nexus 5 but its no longer getting updates, so I want to get a new phone

Looking at the iphone 7, is it a good phone?

Pls limit the memes
>>
>>59605865 How does the 625 fare against something like the x20 or 820?
>>
>>59605597
Can't go wrong with either phone desu. It really depends on whether you feel the extra features the Axon 7 has are worth paying more for. And there's pretty much no difference between 4gb and 6gb.
>>
>>59605998
For what specifically? Battery life it is great, processing power vs 820 its not even close to the 820, don't know about the Helio but I expect it uses more juice
>>
>>59605886
I went from a 5 to a 5x then inevitably to an OP3.
Best decision I've made was to go one plus.
>>
>>59605998
Perfectly fine for normal phone usage and most games. You'll only notice a difference with the most graphically demanding games. The X20 is actually worst for gaming out of the three because the GPU is less powerful than the one in SD625. But if you do play a lot of games I'd take the ZUK Z2 then.
>>
>>59606013
Thanks, think it'll be the axon then. Unless I just bite the bullet and get the oneplus 3t
>>
>>59606076
Meant in terms of processing power. seems like a good middle of the road solution would be to go x20, slightly less processing power than 820 afaik; however I would guess it uses less power. Also, is the processor the only difference between the international version and chink version of the note 4?

Seems like samsung will release the note 7 as a refurbished version later this year. If they sell it for like half the price would you guys go for it? Pretty sure itll be pretty cheap since theyll also launch the note 8 later

Carrier: t mobile
Country: USA
Need: good battery life, smooth interface, mostly do normal stuff with my phone (music, video, text, etc). Sometimes I have to edit office documents and or presentations like PowerPoint on the go

Currently have: HTC One M8 but it's breathing it's last already

S7 edge. Be careful with it though. I broke mine. Try not to drop it a stupid amount and you should be fine. I'm always dropping the things and it held up for quite a lot of drops before smashing

This doesn't seem to be a problem with iP7+. Dropped it quiet a few times and it's perfectly all right.
>>
>>59606666
I hear you. That was the best part about this HTC, it never broke. Hell the metal body has a chunk missing from one nasty fall but the screen is immaculate. Whatever they made it out of was top tier
>>
>>59606735
>quite a few times
I'm talking dropping it atleast once a day. My phones get put through shit.

Help me out. Do I buy the Axon 7 or just get a Oneplus 3T?

How should the Moto G5 fare battery-wise compared to the G4?

Its battery is apparently 200mAh smaller, but the screen is also .5" smaller. Will that make it better or worse?

They quoted $550 at the unveiling. I'm hoping maybe it will be a little less, though I could still see myself paying that for the quality and keyboard.

Oneplus 3T

Since I pretty much only watch videos and read on my phone, would I even notice a difference between the x20 and 625?
>>
>>59607109
Not in performance. The X20 is less power efficient too so it gets worse battery life than the SD625 version.
>>
>>59606800
SoC matters more and the 625 is miles better than the 617
>>
