For windows 7, easiest solution is Daz's Windows Loader, look for the one with the checksum 323c0fd51071400b51eedb1be90a8188. This only works if you are using MBR partition tables/legacy bios. Not uefi/gpt.

A google search for that should find you the legit version, don't download it from a scam site, and check the checksum after you download.

My laptop fan is making a ton of noise and sometimes it feels it's almost stuck, barely running.

Temp is ok... as long as i don't do anything too heavy ressources wise, but sometimes if the graphic card is involved (same heat sink), it goes up and up (90+ °C, proc) until the fan randomly starts blowing faster, or until i quit what i'm doing.

Dust isn't the issue, i've openned my laptop and cleaned what was there (almost nothing), i assumed the issue was coming from the fan needing some lube and i used what is displayed on the picture (not the Lion).

Since then, temperature is more manageable although same problem happens, and it can be even noiser than it was before when it's running.

I was wondering if i should use silicon grease rather than WD-40 ? Should WD-40 be enough ?

I would buy a new laptop but i can't find something "good" below $1200 (in Europe), while i paid $800 for the samsung (which was quite good in 2008).

I've just setted up a little LAMP webserver and I ran some tests to see if everything was working dandy before thinking in getting a domain name.

I can access it just fine from any computer at my workplace, local IP and external ipv6. which obviously is expected.

Then I tried to access it from elsewhere, but it couldn't find my server.

After that I tried one of those millions of ping/traceroute websites from other countries and surprisingly they all can connect.

What the fuck is going on? Why it doesn't work within my country but it does just fine from other countries?

DNS propagation dude. Try connecting to the ip directly instead of to the name. Names can take a while to spread through DNS.

I installed Linux Mint earlier, but on my Windows 10 installation, the time is different, and the mouse no longer uses two finger scrolling.

Okay, I never come here for tech support but I'm going fucking insane with this weird issue. Sometimes when I stand up while wearing my headset (the cord is about 6 feet so I have more than enough slack to move around a bit), the sound cuts out, but not just that, it will immediately cause a media resource 'failed to decode' issue with my browser if I'm watching videos or streams which usually forces me to close and re open my tabs. I thought it might be something with the in-line stereo adjuster so I disabled it, still happens. I thought maybe I had a bad USB port so I've cycled through every single one on my rig and it still happens.

The thing is I can't manually replicate it, at all. I can swing the cord like a jump rope or attempt to do whatever motions I think I'm making when the disconnection is happening and it will never happen when I'm trying to make it happen. The headset is a ~4 month old Sennheiser. One other problem I've been having recently, my mouse randomly not being recognized and forcing me to reset (again, changing USB port or unplugging/replugging does nothing), makes me think it's a motherboard issue. But again, I've never seen anything like this.

Got an external hard drive I've had some problems with for months now, usually when I boot my computer I'd have to unplug and plug it back in to be recognized (though once recognized it would tend to stay recognized until I powered off the system completely) then today all of a sudden when I try to access it at all I hear kind of a swishing and low beeping ish sound and it dismounts, tried a few times and same thing happened. Is this most likely a problem with the enclosure and not the drive itself? Planning to pull it out and install it in my case but have to wait on a PCI card to add some more SATA slots since I'm all full up at the moment before I can test it.

For someone going for a computer science degree, do future employers care more about a previous internship or the contents/abilities you show through your github?

Have a shit gpa because I was immature and transferred to a four year school from a two year when I was not ready. This is my last summer before I graduate as I'll finish school in December.

Have you tried checking in that stupid flash settings panel in Control Panel? I seem to recall it being possible to uninstall both NPAPI and PPAPI flash plugins from there.

Or, download an uninstaller from the adobe flash website. I did that once too.

in my country they care about anything relevant.
They often asked me about my internship, if it was a success or not, and a few employers asked me if I worked on some projects on my free time, etc.

Apple is still using the 4.1, that's why a lot of devs doesn't port their games to this system.
Linux right now have the 4.3 whatever the GPU you're using, 4.5 for intel, and both nvidia and amd are working on the 4.5 version (amdgpu already have opengl 4.5)
For windows I don't know how is the support, and I don't really care.

I'm really stupid when it comes to this, but M.2 drives use PCIe lanes or something (dafuq do I know) so if you have a graphics card or something occupying a PCIe slot, maybe the lanes are spent on the motherboard?

In a week or so I'll find out by myself if a B&M drive will work on whatever slot I have on my motherboard. Pretty sure it should last I did research on it.
