If you are asking this question on /g/, you don't know enough about linux to install Arch.

>>59461520
> I don't know what Antergos is

See the previous answer at the top of this post.

Here's what you need to do:

lern how to >>>/g/catalog

find the current /fglt/ - Friendly GNU/Linux Thread
- >>59438559

Read it. then check the archive for the last 2 or 3 threads and read those.

Read the sticky:
- >>51971506

Use the links provided in that. In particular, https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Main_Page is a spoonfed resource.

Now you are ready to use google (you have heard of "google?") and find the Arch wiki. Start reading that, especially the user set up guide that walks you through in babby steps.

Now, remember the "Friendly GNU/Linux Thread" thing I just mentioned? Ask your questions there.

>>59461645
Ok. I'll delet this thread senpai
>>
>>59461474
They used to have a beginner's guide. but since it was too easy to install arch, they removed it.

however, due to the nature of the used wiki system, the page is still there:

Just in case, prepare livecd distro before you do anything. You may end up without internet access.
The tutorial is here:
http://systemd-free.org/migrate.php
Here are some tips after installation

>>
>>59469657
Installing gentoo is actually easier, the documentation is much clearer.
>>
>>59461474
Just follow the install guide on the wiki, read ahead before doing things and don't forget to make boot partitions etc.
>>
>>59469734
This. The Arch wiki is one of the best ones along with Gentoo.
>>
>>59469605
Whats the issue?

I installed by it last week
old c2d 8200 cpu and HD3870 graphic card
works flawlessly and I followed on my phone by it as I did not have other PC nearby

Configure X.Org.
>>
Just switched from Arch to Fedora. Fedora is much nicer and requires skills after the initial install that employers might actually finds useful. That said selinux is a bit difficult for me to work around, so I might switch to noobubtu. Arch is nice for playing with, but that's about it
>>
>>59470077
Dude, you just need to install it using pacman. Why can't you do that?
>>
>>59470111
What skill? I tried Fedora briefly and it just werked. Then again I'm a bum with no interest in ever having an employer.

>>
>>59470142
Back when I was a noob I installed Arch just by following the guide (still took all night). Then the hard part began. I didn't understand the difference between a display server, X server, X client, xterm, terminal emulator, tty, display manager, login manager, window manager, and couldn't close vi whenever I had to edit a config file or startup script that could be sourced from one of three possible directories. It was pretty daunting.
>>
>>59470111
You mean you install it and it doesn't work?
>>
YouTube tutorials are helpful to deciphering Linux when the Wiki is opened next to you. If it's your first time with Linux, prepare a full night.

If you can't get an install working after one day, consider yourself retarded.
>>
Honestly if you follow the guide you can't really fuck it up.

This. No reason to install Arch the normal way except /g/ cred and minimizing your footprint on your 16 GB RAM machine.
>>
>>59471432
installers are great and all but arch-anywhere fucked up my machine really bad. failed to fetch all the software even with a working connection.
>>

Do did you mean to write gentoo?
>>
>>59471458
Yeah. I just attempted to install Void using the void-installer, and it's a nigger. The installer, I believe, doesn't know how to handle lvm + luks in the grub config.
So attempt #2 -- just going to build the void system in my Arch install, and chroot into it.
>>
>>59471919
in terms of arch installers i would recommend revenge installer. i just installed off it and it worked flawlessly. i'm a systemdcuck though so i wouldn't know about void installers. it's slightly obscure so i bet most of them suck. good luck, though.

>>59470159
Very little, but more than typing any program into the yaourt/pacaur and installing
