the thing is: maybe your watch was 10 seconds fast, then 10 seconds slow the next day. maybe if it was left in one specific position it would have been 30 seconds fast now.
and more importantly, maybe if you buy another one it will run much worse. with a chrono, you are 100% sure that at worse, it will be +4/-6 per day. Often better, but never worse, no matter the conditions.
>>59416882

How long could I expect typical lume on a watch to glow for?
>>59424340
It can vary considerably from watch to watch. My citizen grand classic for example has fantastic lume for the style of watch that is readable all night but on the other hand my bulova diver is basically useless in the dark. What watch is it?
>>59424386
Just looking for something cheap and easy to read at night. Strongly leaning towards pic related.
>>59424521
>forgot pic
>>59424521
Get one of those carnival tritium watches for like $100 on amazon if you really want something easy to read all night.
Just won an auction on eBay for a 20 grid watch case.
I have 2 watches, and one of them is a F-91W.

Bought this for running, but the bracelet jangles too much. Is this the reason people get natos? If I don't want a leather or a rubber diving strap, what would a good alternative be?
>>59424989
why the fuck did you buy that for running

If the watch has hacking, you just pull the crown when it is at 12 o clock, then go to time.is or something like that and push it back in at the right time.
If it doesn't have hacking you kinda can't
While we are on this topic, If my watch is running 5 seconds fast, and I don't change it until it's 2 minutes ahead.
Is that fine to simply just go back 2 minutes? I've heard it can damage stuff if you wind it backwards.
Should I really be adjusting the day+date all the way around to yesterday then changing the time forwards nearly 24 hours just to adjust it for 2 minutes?
>>59425542
Wew lad. Dam right I'm going to fix it myself!
>>59426177
Do not turn it backwards. Let it die or get it regulated.

Wristwatches are literally defunct as a technology.
Practically archaic.
It is only a fashion accessory.

Yeah well if anyone expects to change the fact that most of /g/ has anything else than Seiko 5s, Vostoks or similar by simply stating 'durr hurr /g/ iz le poorfags' can go register on WUS and circlejerk about their low to middle tier watches there.

Yes. I love Nomos but I think their complications always look like shit, apart from maybe the power reserve.

I'm looking for a nice watch as a daily beater. It should be a German watch (don't know what's my obsession with it. I guess it's because I'm German).
Optimally I want a watch which looks sporty and can be used as a dress watch at the same time. Knowing the infeasibility of that, I stumbled upon the Laco Berlin as a classic dress watch. I think it would look great with a Nato strap as well, making it much more sporty.
What do you think? Do you change the straps of your watch, depending on the occasion?
P.S.: I'm open for recommendations. My budget is around 1k Euro (+/-).
>>59428243
what are those on the middle right?
>>59428251
I feel like one of the best german beaters for around 1k is the Sinn 104 but its not exactly dressy.
Junghans makes some nice looking Bauhaus pieces.
>>59428251
Sinn
>>59427538
Hirsch straps are massively overpriced. At 50% of they are just ok. Real EULIT perlons will look great on your Geneve.
