Best chink mechanical keyboard for 50€?
I was thinking of getting this JamesDonkey 619. It has Gateron switches and looks ok. Amazon isn't option

>>

Yeah, I know they're legit, just wondering about the keycaps themselves. Hoping they're thicc enough to block backlights from coming through, which usually doesn't happen on white ones specially. I'll try sending him a message asking about it.

This is my 3 year old Shine 3. I use the reactive lighting mode (point is, NOT the "customized" lighting modes), and today, the lights shown are just ticked on at a very low brightness (compare to the numlock and the spacebar, which are at normal brightness).
I've tried unplugging and replugging, tried changing light modes, tried messing with the dip switches, no result: They refuse to shut off.

Anyone have this problem? Any ideas?
>>
Do you guys touch type "properly"? I'm talking about 10-finger qwerty layout here. Or did you teach yourself and type with much fewer fingers?

I can touch type and am pretty fast doing it, but I don't do it anywhere near properly. Should I actually take them time to learn propert qwerty layout typing?
>>
>>59388343
I type with 10 but it's self-taught and not proper.
>>
>>59388343
I've been using some of those free online tutorials, they've been pretty good so far.. I can 'blind type' at around 90 WPM.. So far with proper 'touch typing' I'm up to around 50 WPM. It's just getting used to using all my fingers, which feels unnatural as I never really learned that way
>>
>>59386926
nice new keyboard! oh, wait...
>>
>>59388343
I've been learning. Am I the only one who thinks the bottom row left hand fingering is nonsensical? I feel ergonomically everything should be shifted left by one key

>>59389709
No, not at all. I assume you mean for example pressing C with your middle finger, which is simply retarded? Check out this: http://www.onehandkeyboard.org/standard-qwerty-finger-placement/

You are not the only one. Picture related.
>>
>>59389709
>>59389754
that's how I planning on learning it to correctly set up my muscle memory. I'm not into breaking my middle finger each time I have to curl it under to hit C, or complete lose my position on the homerow to hit more comfotably.
>>
>>59389754
Yes, exactly what I mean. I've read that before yet the perfectionist in me wants to learn to do it how it "should" be done
>>
>>59389754
is that b supposed to be used with the thumb
why the fuck
>>
>>59389819
Same here, until I tried it and it just always feels wrong and I accidentally switch back to using my index finger to hit C. There are many many posts like this on the internet, and they all agree that the standard layout is a bit nonsensical at times -- especially because it wasn't really designed around being easy to type, but to prevent jams in old typewriters. I prefer to type well and comfortably instead of following some archaic standards of what is good.

This might also help your decision: https://phys.org/news/2016-02-ten-fingers-fast.html

>>59389833
No it just means that B can be hit with either index finger, whatever feels better to you at the moment.
>>
>>59389771
That's what I really don't understand with the standard fingering.

Training the muscle memory to get over the awkwardness is easy, but you have to completely leave the home row to reach the keys which kind of beats the whole point
>>
>>59389876
I couldn't agree more. As I said, I'll be learning it like in the article linked above, I feel this will lead to much safter and better typing in the long run. Just because it deviates from the archaic standard, doesn't mean it's worse.
>>
>>59387015
Make sure it has abs caps, use it frequently. You can fake one by typing with greasy hands all the time.
>>
>>59386619
basically a budget corsair. If you like the layout you probably wont be disappointed.
>>
>>59388343
just typing blind naturally i use 8~10 fingers for most things. My right hand moves around a little so sometimes I use my pinky but generally just the left for shift. 90 wpm isnt bad though so I don't think its holding me back

I actually just checked on 10 fast fingers and came out around 60 wpm while drunk. I use proper technique with all fingers so I really doubt people are clocking 90wpm just freeballing it.
>>
>>59392315
I mean i post on internet forums and write papers. That and chats + some coding.

90wpm is within reach for someone who uses a keyboards a bunch but not professionally.

However I'm not sure that >>59391442 is right outside of a professional area.

i found someone on 10fastfingers competitions the other day with a cool 170wpm including video proof
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSpprwTLUnI
it got me thinking about how to improve typing to this point
>>
>>59392723
Impressive, for me it's about improving accuracy so I dont have to make corrections, and getting consistent so I can always use my burst wpm.

Practice is really all there is, so if you have to type something, type it fast even if you dont have to. Most people stop around 70wpm or less because typing speed isnt a limiting factor in anything they do.

I would go with blues. Blues should be less stiff than clears, but greens are even stiffer than blues. As long as you don't mind the noise of the clicky blues
>>
>>59394439

>>
Has anyone typed with two o-rings stacked in a key? I'm thinking of doing it. Makes it a lot more quiet and the key travel reduction makes clear switches feel better because you can feel the actuation as soon as you bottom out.
>>
>>59394483
why is topre for millionaires?
>>
>>59394600
Yup, I have all my modifiers double o-ringed. I tend to smash backspace and enter as hard as I can, and the short key travel plus the reduced sound makes things comfy
>>
Something I like about membrane keyboards is that there is a somewhat definitive pressed and unpressed position.
I want to try out a mechanical keyboard, but the only ones I've touched in person are at local electronics stores. They all seemed to have full key travel, where it felt more like pressing an analog button where I could press as hard as I wanted until I bottomed out
Is this all keyswitch types or just the ones on the keyboards I tried?
>>
>>59394483
But where's mod linear and scam panda?

>>59394604
because millionaires have enough money to waste on overpriced shit

I got a DAS keyboard professional I think. It has the volume wheel.

Where does it rate among mechanical keyboards? I got it last year I think when I first even heard of them and now I find out there are tons of different brands.

I also pre-ordered their new one with the LEDs, but who knows when that'll come out.
>>
>>59395811
Das Keyboard is fine.
You don't need artisan USB cables, woven by the Pope personally in a full moon night.
You don't need special switches that were forged by elves in Japan from katana-grade steel.
That's all audiophile-tier territory.

Okay, I'll be blunt:
I'm not rich, I want a new mech keyboard other than a gifted Razer (Green switch) keyboard which is on its' way out.
I have no clue what I'd want, mostly just clicky switches, backlighting for some late nights when I'm screwing around, but I don't want to break the bank.
I live in Australia, so importing something from Corsair's (example) website is going to fuck it hard for the price, even if they have a good sale.
If any anons would be keen on helping out, I'd appreciate it very much.

Also type with around 90 wpm with my old non-home row and not using all fingers method of touch typing. Also around 50 wpm when doing it correctly.

just got my first mechanical. Plum 84 with Gateron browns. At first some keys would intermittently register as a different key but that seems to be fixed (for now) by rebooting. Also the backlight control keys don't work properly. Not sure if I've been chinked.

Which one should i get?
Drevo Calibur RGB or Ajazz AK33 RGB. Ajazz has Zorro switches, Drevo has Kailh.

I have a KB Paradise V80 and it's the best keyboard I ever had. Cherry MX clears are the best, better than both Blues and shitty Browns, plus it's sturdy as fuck, with a fullmetal case (except keycaps ofc)
>>
>>59394505
>>59394423

Clears are great IMHO, I'd say blues if you find they're too stiff, greens are even stiffer. Just don't go with browns as they're on the other side, so saggy that they don't even feel mechanic at all.
>>

tfw I posted some time ago for help about my Ducky One on leddit's sub about mech keyboards (a led stopped working and I didn't know where to ask for assistance since I imported it from US) and they said "you could think twice before buying a 100 $ keyboard from an unknown brand". Read their wiki later and turns out they only reccommend Razer, Corsair, Logitech and that kind of shit.

Nice to see here you know about niche but better quality brands.
>>
>>59406130
come on, reddit is dumb but this is just made up autism
they're the kind of retards who buy and support expensive """""limited""""" shit from unknown brands
most of the pictures there are from special snowflake keyboards and keycaps
>>
>>59406130
what do you expect, that subreddit is 90% dick measuring posts about $250 keyboards with $125 keycap sets and a $100 "artisan" keycap to finish it off.

Ducky isn't even that unknown of a brand either what the fuck.
>>
>>59406272
Yeah the funny thing is that for them everything which wasn't Razer or Corsair or other super-mainstream brands was "unknown". I mean, I'm japanese so I don't really know about stores in the US, but everyone who's willing to buy something niche as a mechanical keyboard in my opinion should look up the web and find out websites like mechanicalkeyboards.com where you find out about these brands which give you better choices which can fit your needs more.
>>
>>59406171
Not all reddit is shit, and this is maybe the only board where you can say that and have people agree, lots of subs have useful info, but that one is really a load of useless information and uninformed idiots.
>>
>>59406343
Are we talking about /r/mk? Razer is shunned and mechanicalkeyboards.com is well-known last I was there.
>>
>>59406513
I talk about /r/mechanicalkeyboards, it happened a year or so ago so I don't know if they got more culture in the meantime, about Razer the feeling I got was that it was overrated but still a good brand as opposed to "unkown ones" like Ducky, Leopold, KB Paradise, etc...
>>
>>59406596
I returned in that autism land and read their buyer's guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/wiki/buying_guide

It seems they got updated a little, they discovered Ducky and Leopold even though they still made a chart full of Razer and shit.
>>
>>59406642
Funny how they write long panegyrics full of PR sentences for Corsair, CM Storm, Razer & co. while just a couple of skinny lines for the Ducky One

>>

They specifically mention how the Razer switches aren't worth it and the only recommended board is the tournament edition and only for its cheap price.

They've also been dickriding Ducky and Leopold for years. I should know, I used to visit there regularly in 2015 and 2016.
>>
>>59406794
Yeah, that part about Razer switches is quite objective, but in general I got the feeling that they were more for the big brands, even if not for Razer in the specific. They seemed quite Corsair/CM/Logitech fans.

And perhaps I stumbled in the most ignorant ones when I made that post, I don't really know.
>>
>>59406864
if you read most posts people make about recommended keyboards, people only make concessions to CM for its cheap entry price. Even then you'll see most people recommend keebs like the MagicForce68 or TADA on there over the big name brands for entry stuff.

As much as I love to shit on leddit, their mk board is one of the more "on point" communities on there.
>>
>>59406864
>but in general I got the feeling that they were more for the big brands, even if not for Razer in the specific
This is somewhat true. They are quite accepting of Corsair boards despite the fact that they are closer to Razer (which it is a big meme for them to hate on) in quality and price. The Logitech G710 is a popular entry-level board due to price, though the romer-g nonsense isn't often recommended. CM boards are popular even here as basic and decently-built, depending on the model.

That said, they'll still accept the chinkshit boards, though I don't see too many of them interested in ordering from Taobao or even Aliexpress.
>>
>>59394439
Zealencio silencing clips. There's also the similar GMK QMX silencing clips too, but they're only for PCB-mounted switches for now, can't go on plate-mounted. Both were on Massdrop.
>>
>>59407035
That's it. They love Corsair so much bt honestly a friend of mine got one (was it K95?) and he got like 4 malfunctioning leds after only 1 month of use (and they said I was foolish by buying the ducky lol), and also Logitechs have those Romer G which are very bad, I hate Reds and Browns and those ones were even sloppier when I tried some out in a store.
I feel like they only hate on Razer because it's the meme one but as I said they still are more fans of the big brands.

Good for them anyway, my ducky serves great and I'm happy with it (even though it still has the broken led on del button because I had to send it back to US to my expense for a replacement and it was expensive so I lived with it)
>>
>>59402835
I'd take an Ajazz, cause of the, I believe, better Zorro switches. I don't remember if it has any non-standard key sizes, though. The Drevo however is using the same design and board as most Chinese tenkeyless keyboards, so there should be no issue with keycaps.
>>
>>59406130
Fuck leddit but you literally made this up and none of what you say about them is true.
>>
Can't decide between the FC660M and Tada68.

The FC660M looks beautiful and was my original choice but I heard its harder to find keys for and can't be programmed.

Anyone out there who can give some advice?
>>
>>59407937
TADA68 for sure. Programmability > all

Also both have non-standard keys, FC660 layout has a 1u key on the bottom row and a 2.25u right shift, TADA68 has three 1u keys on the bottom row, 1.75u right shift and I think 2 non-standard row keys on the far right column.

Does anyone have firmware for the Royal Kludge RC930? Absolutely unfindable somehow.
>>
>>59408866
I have the same problem. I can't find the Gen 1 software. The Gen 1 RC930 has white housings while Gen 2 has clear housings and per key RGB.

Gen 2 software is findable. I'm fairly sure all 'electrostatic capacitive' keyboards use the same software.
