I'm playing around with classes in c++ for the first time.

Is there a way to make something like pic related, where "product" is another class, work?
I'm not getting any errors until I try to compile, which is where it tells me that "product" is undefined even though its included in the same .cpp and has a default constructor.

Are 32 bit or 64 bit processors faster? I remember someone telling me the latter, and some googling seems to indicate that a lot of people think the same thing, but I remain unconvinced as the people answering didn't seem to have a deeper understanding.
I'm wondering, wouldn't a 64bit processors always have longer critical paths in the various components than the 32bit equivalents? Or are there 32bit components included in most 64bit processors? Obviously when handling large data sets there are advantages to 64bit, like more RAM, but shouldn't raw computing power be superior on 32bit processors?

>>
>>59370625
its not clear what you are asking.
all variables have a type.
the type can be basic like int, long, boolean i guess or it can be complex like an object. an object is an instance of a class. classes have methods (functions) and values (i can't remember if thats the right term but they are just variables).
enums are not extra code, they are a way of assigning an arbitrary tag to an integer for your own benefit. there is no overhead in the compiled program, when you compile it the computer throws all your enums away because it can keep track without naming everything.
but c++ is oop and oop people don't like enums, they like things like static,const,final keywords or something? (don't ask me what they all mean!) that make variables immutable (is that the right word?)
i doubt you can store the type of something, why would you need to do that? c is kind of strongly typed so it probably shouldn't let you check the type because you should fucking well know the type.
i guess you could write a function with an overload for each type and return a value based on which function ran. so its possible in theory i guess.

>new build

>BSOD BCCode 50 at day 5 of excessive use

>run windows memory diagnostic - hardware problem detected, "your computer has a memory problem"

>run memtest in OS version for around ~130%, zero problems found

>test each ram stick individually on the same mobo slot

Despite the fact that i only had one BSOD in an otherwise stable running system, i need to take this seriously and RMA right? Could this be caused by anything else other than the stick being faulty?

Can anybody explain what's going on here?

As you can see, the internet sees my public IP as 8*.11*.18*.3*, although my router says it should be 1*0.6*.1*6.8* (if I'm understanding it correctly).

I've forwarded port 22 from 192.168.0.10.

When I try to ssh over the internet, I can't connect no matter which IP I use.

(I'm connecting from my other laptop via phone wifi hotspot)

When I try to connect from the local network, using 8*.11*.18*.3* doesn't work, but 1*0.6*.1*6.8* does.

(using 192.168.0.10 obviously works too)
>>
>>59374156
Also, when I disable port forwarding, I cannot use 1*0.6*.1*6.8* to connect from the local network.
So port forwarding obviously works.

Can anyone tell me how to delete this ''folder'' that isn't really anything?

Originally downloaded a .zip of the doujin that had over 255 characters or something and it wouldn't start downloading unless I made it shorter. It downloaded instantly, meaning it still didn't download the files but did .zip on desktop nonetheless. Tried unpacking it and it made that folder, which I can't delete or open or rename or anything to it.

What now?

something with more than 1080p resolution - 1440p if you want constant 60fps or greater, 4k if you want to push your hardware. Also consider getting an unlocked processor soonish.

If you're already considering the newest and best gpu, I assume you're going to splurge on a nice monitor anyway, so why not go for something with high color accuracy?

I'd definitely try the live disc. Look up which button to push/hold to get into the bios beforehand, because it's not going to say on the screen. Buuuut, you have to get into the bios to change the boot order, if it's not set to boot from optical before hdd. You could even get an identical laptop, and get into its bios at the same time, pushing the same buttons on the broken one, to change the boot order without a working screen.

There's almost no discernable difference between fast and slow memory for most users. Get what's reliable. As for amount, your OS takes a gig, a large game takes up to 4 usually, then you could also have photoshop running, and firefox, and maybe some other normal sized program, and then if you tried to also run another large game you'd run out if you only had 8 gigs. If you see that happening to you, get 16. If you're not going to have moire than one game running at the same time, 8 should be fine.
>>
Never mind, I just realized >>59376784 is a mess.
Here is another version:

    var newest1 = document.getElementsByClassName('THUMBS-BLOCK')[0];
var newest2 = newest1.getElementsByTagName('div').lastChild;
var newest3 = newest2.getElementsByTagName('a').firstChild;
var newest4 = newest3.getAttribute('href');

Does it make more sense? my objective is to get that href value.
>>
>>59376912
The HTML structure is this:

<div class="THUMBS-BLOCK">
<div><a></a></div>
<div><a></a></div>

You will have to open it.

If you can turn it on and fans stay spinning then it can be fixed.
If it POSTs look up the post codes of the laptop.

If you can hear windows starting you will have to open it and check the ribbon cable.

I cant tell from here unless i see what is wrong with it.
You might want to bring a Phillips PH0 screwdriver with you.

I have an old xbox360 collecting dust. I have a nephew coming over in like a year I think, so I'm not selling it, but I wanted to know if I could throw a different hdd in there and install some linux distro?
From what I've googled it's a bad idea because the specs suck, but that implies people have done it successfully which I can't really find. There is the "frree60" thing but apparently it doesn't work on newer 360s?
I'm not worried about it sucking as a regular computer because at most I'd play a youtube video on it, but mostly I want to know if doing this would fuck it up to where I couldn't play the regular 360 games on it by putting the other hdd on it and how to actually do so.

I've installed debian like a year ago on a laptop so I can follow instructions and spring break so I have the time to learn, but i honestly can't really find a proper guide.

How do I force my gpu to get hot while not actually using cpu/ram
I don't want to buy a seperate heater
>>
>>59379166
You really think only an extra hundred watts will take the chill off? If you can afford to run a space heater, you can afford to buy a space heater. They're very cheap.
>>
>>59379210
It's not about affordability, it's about principle and maybe space.
>>
>>59379233
If you're cold without the GPU under load, you'll still be cold with it under load. It's not enough heat to make a meaningful difference. Moving around for one minute an hour would do more. And GPU fans have shitty bearings that wear out fast and get loud. So you'd be making your life less pleasant or need to replace it sooner, for no good raisin.

Have you had similar experiences, or is my friend epic pranking me out of my sleep? How do these monkies get jobs like that?
>>
>>59379476
Go somewhere else.
Look up the local public library, maybe a state park, a local business that doesn't get much traffic, someplace at school like the library or specified study rooms, etc.
Or invest in noise cancelling headphones or getting the condo soundproofed.

Why do youtube videos stream fine on my smartphone youtube app (android) but lag on my desktop pc? They're both connected to the same wifi router. Did a speedtest and they both download at the same speed. Same resolution, both are signed in to my youtube account, playing both videos at around the same time of day. But using chrome on my desktop some youtube videos lag like crazy while the same video on my nexus 5 streams fine. Tried clearing the cache, restarting the browser, restart the pc, tried turning off adblocker, tried a different browser. Nope, I can't understand why. I don't even care about remedying it, I just want to understand why.

How can I adjust overscan from a computer instead of the tv? I have my laptop hooked up to my tv via HDMI but the display is too large. How would I add a line before text in LibreOffice? The same as the blue one in this picture? Does it have a specific name?

I looked through options and I can add a border, but it's only around text, I want it to be a longer horizontal line with text on the same line. I thought about using Unicode block characters, but it sounds like a hacky solution.

You can install Windows 10 without a license. Then you activate it after you have installed it (only if you want to hehe). You might be able transfer your license, but it depends if it is an OEM version and if you are using a new motherboard.

Try reading this, and maybe a few other links to get a general idea how.

There isn't a new version of Windows 10 though

If you want to install a new "version" of Windows 10 just click on Settings => Updates and Security => Updates

Or if you broke your Windows 10 or something then yes you can use your old key, assuming you have the typical kind of license Microsoft doesn't care how many installations you make as long as the last one stops getting used forever before the next one starts getting used at all

Linux to satisfy their autistic side and windows to do real work, perhaps?

Many companies dictate the use of Windows so not much choice there
>>
So I woke up to find my pc fans were going crazy (sounded like someone using a hair dryer in the room), i turned on the monitor to see what was going on and there was no input, and moving the mouse/hitting keys on the keyboard didn't wake it up. I could still access my shared files on the local network so Windows didn't crash or anything. eventually i had to shut the computer down and power it back on and it booted normally and now everything is okay, but wtf happened?
I don't even have the computer itself set to sleep, only the monitor after 45 minutes.

The cheaper model's specs are better than the more expensive model's. Is the new model only more expensive because of the color display and touchbar?

As a software developer, is there any reason to prefer the more expensive model over the cheaper?
