There's no real secret, just 5050 RGB LEDs on the shelf, back of the TV and under the desk, and some yellow bulbs, the right one being a low power yellow LED and the left an old incandescent bulb because of the dimmer on the lamp. The rest is basically color theory, with the warm bulbs complementing the colder LEDs.

It's probably because of the extremely thin bezel. There's like a 1 maybe 2mm actual plastic bezel and then about 5mm of 'bezel' on the panel itself. It makes a huge difference and probably is one of the main reasons they look larger than 24 inches.

I get you, but I still think it has to do with the bezel. Most monitors have a uniform bezel around it, but those Ultrasharps only have that sort of chin bar at the bottom and very thin bezels on the rest of the panel, so when you orientate it vertically they look even longer. Still, it's a great monitor. I know some people complain a lot about backlight bleed and stuff, so you might have to be lucky to get a decent panel. I personally never had any problems with mine, apart from the color calibration being slightly different from one to another, which is easy to fix. Not sure what you're getting from Amazon, but I've ordered them directly from Dell and they manufactured brand new monitors for that order, so I got the latest revisions at the time.

Making progress on the other setup. Made a wooden shelf for the printer (Which I need to stain today)

I have a shit load of space on that shelf so I could possibly put a few figures.
I am considering getting a small fish tank or something and putting it where the printer was, or instead make my own terrarium that lives on its own.

I guess I want that desk to be more of a hobby desk. I want to work on small projects, and a PC there would be handy to search for shit. I'll post a pic if anyone is interested.

For me it wasn't so much the hardware, it was for the OS. I love the 3-finger workspace scrolling and I use it for my work stuff. Plus iMessage/Facetime with my GF while she's at work so I can inconspicuously text her without being on my phone all the time.

If you enable Freesync you will still get tearing, but you will overclock your monitor to 75hz... but thats not the feature of the Freesync usually, its just gives you a higher range.

I'd just straight up replace Windows with Linux on it if all you intend on doing is browsing and watching.

The issue is that if your PC registers screens as pic related then the pictures will appear on the wrong screens.

With two monitors it's ok, it just means each image will be on the opposite monitor. But with 3 screens it's a pain in the ass.

Colt LE6920, I have an LMT B5 Sopmod stock on it, Aimpoint PRO red dot sight, a KAC vertical foregrip and a magpul mbus buis.
It hasn't let me down after ~4200 rounds, so I figure it'll keep on no problem

M&P ARs are fine, you'll be replacing most of the cosmetic/ergonomic stuff anyways, I'd just make sure that you get the right length gas system (where my front sight post is is where it ends on a carbine) vs a midlength or a full length like on a real m16, other than that, it's all big boy legos

Don't know what to get first. What I like about the AK is that ammo is much cheaper, and it needs less maintenance. I'll probably go with it first because of those reasons. Eventually I plan on having both though.

Two things
7.62x39 (AK ammo, is drying up, the cheap surplus at least, and will likely pass .223, AR ammunition soon) the stuff you see that's cheap is also usually corrosive, meaning it will eat away at the barrel lining if it's chromed, you have to wash it out after each range trip clean water if this is the case.

For maintenance, they're very similar, I clean/lube my rifles every time I shoot them, it's good practice and takes 10 minutes, MAYBE, so don't let those be deciding factors.
ARs have much cheaper replacement parts, a much bigger aftermarket and ammo you can buy literally anywhere in the US/Canada, .223 or the more expensive 5.56 is cheap if you buy in bulk and won't eat away at your gun.

My AK is a 74, not a 47, so I use 5.45x39, which is harder to find, and can't be bought in stores.
For good AKs, look at Arsenal (top of the line for quality, reliability), WASR (cheap and romanian, functional but lower quality), PSA (build it yourself or buy a cheaply put together but functional US made rifle)

Thermaltake frio silent 14. Think the hyper 212 Evo, but the cooler is wider and at the same time, narrower. As you can see, it allows all 4 ram slots to be visible/accessible even with cooler and fan installed. Pic related. Was $39. Keeps my i7-6700k clocked to 4.6ghz under 78C while encoding or stress testing. I swapped the fan out for a better, quieter 120mm cooler Master.

Pretty damn convenient imo especially if your phone is capable of qualcomm quick charge it charges up in about 1.5 hrs and I don't need to worry about damaging the pins in the charge port. It can be annoying if I want to use the phone while charging but I have a standard charger for that.
