It's down there mostly because I use it almost exclusively as a foot rest. It's not even in the proper orientation, it's meant to be standing upright - as it's lying there, the speaker unit is pointed towards the wall instead of the floor.

I keep it turned off 99.9% of the time, though. Don't really like having it turned on, my speakers sound better without it.
Only reason it's even plugged in is because countless complaints to my landlord against my neighbors who blast niggerbass much too often at shitty times have had 0 effect over the years, so I've taken to being a bigger asshole in the hopes that I'll either get evicted or manage to get the point through the neighbors' thick skulls.

Thankfully, it's been less of a problem lately so the sub has barely gotten any activity in the last couple of weeks. Maybe the neighbors finally understand that listening to thumping bass through a concrete wall isn't pleasant, one can hope.

My TADA68 arrived yesterday. Really liking the layout, and Gateron browns aren't terrible, but I'm trying to figure out if I have any specific use for it. It's not about the bandwidth limits and slow speeds, though. It's about 4chan's image server being a steaming pile of shit.
As far as my own connection goes, if the image server(s) was(weren't) slower than IPoAC, I'd be just fine loading a 100 MB picture in a matter of seconds. I don't have a bandwidth limit either, so I don't give a shit about that.

But that's not the case here on 4chan, because the servers in charge of serving images are so ridiculously slow that even loading a simple 2MB picture takes goddamn ages. You're "punishing" everyone regardless of connection speed and bandwidth limits.

I'm loving them. Took me a couple of days to get used to the sound and how they fit around my ears, but now I'm enjoying them a lot. The bass is seriously fun, and I had to turn down some of my EQ tweaks because it was too strong with the settings I used for my Clouds. Also quite surprised that it doesn't leak as much sound as people led me to believe. Even if it doesn't isolate sound at all, the leak isn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be.

It would be hard to pick up enough momentum on carpet to do any real damage to the aquarium. I can lean back all the way in the chair and still have room between the chair and the tank so there's plenty of room to get in and out easily.

No, emptying out the whole tank would only be a last resort due to out of control algae, sickness, or parasites in the tank. As long as everyone stays healthy and I stay on top of maintenance it should never reach the point of entire tank purging. The water should be considered basically another living organism inside the tank, as the bacterial contents inside the water are what allow the plants and fish to flourish.

Some days it's a hassle, but it's also extremely rewarding when i've had a shit day and just come and stare at my fish and feel better lol

Yeah, I use a similar water conditioner called Stress Coat, it works pretty well to help acclimate new water to the tank during water changes. Good stuff!

Beta's are pretty easy to start with, but they are so simple that they really don't count as fish keeping experience. You could probably get a small tank setup with a filter and all for under $50 USD and that would last you quite a while. Maybe start off with some platys or mollys, they are excellent starter fish.

I like OP's station idea so much I bought my own rack unit and made my own attempt.

I gotta say the rack itself has a lot of potential but I still gotta work out a lot of the details. I'm going to look into a sliding keyboard tray and some better way to illuminate it. It looks like OP mounted his screen with command hooks can anybody confirm?

That tank is nice, a bit pricy for the size, but you're paying for aesthetic more than anything. Platys only get about 2.5 inches at maximum length and are community fish so you won't have to worry about them murdering each other like you'll see some other species do.

Mollys CAN get up to about 4 inches, but in my past tanks i've had literally thousands after they started breeding and the biggest I ever saw was maybe right at 3 inches in length.

Once the population started getting large, I fed them to my turtles, so it was a win win.

I know it seems like a bitter pill to swallow, but consider the amount of time you spend in front of your computer and then take the cost of a decent chair and desk and divide it by the number of hours a year you use it. That's how I look at it, much better investment with that perspective

I would say 5g is the minimum you should get for them to be a responsible pet owner. The bigger the tank, the happier the fish. My smallest tank right now is 100g, then I've got the 125g behind my desk, and I've got a 500 gallon stock tank my turtles live in.

Keep an eye on craigslist, there are always a ton of people who decide to buy an aquarium without having a clue what they are getting in to. They'll usually be more than happy to sell their brand new equipment for 50% or less of the retail price.

If you care to elaborate on your criticism of my tank, I'd love to hear constructive criticism, but condescension with no explanation just makes you look like you have no clue what you're talking about. If you're referring to the placement of the plants, in particular the sword tails, it is that way for a reason for the time being. If you're referring to my pumps/filters, they were more affordable than the undergravel models and I have 3 other tanks that I maintain, so economic filter replacements are a necessity.


Reading your comments on everyone else's posts gives me a bit more insight into you comments. You're obviously bitter about something and so are choosing to take it out on 4channers, even though of all the people in the world, the people on here are likely the most able to relate to you and whatever bullshit you're going through in life.
