Nice assumption, but it's wrong. I recommended it to my roommate who wanted something that looks decent and not like a toy.

It has cable management holes and comes with everything you need, but the front is made from plastic and the frontplate is made from a different material than the sidepanels, which seem to be made out of steel.
That makes a plain case, but with 3 different materials.
And you cannot even eject the blu ray drive without having to open a door beforehand, which is kind of a stupid concept, if you ask me. But wintoddlers are used to that anyway.

Also it doesn't into airflow, because warm air naturally (without any extra fans or similar stuff) flows upwards. Cases that don't utilize this simple fact of every childs physics book, are just bad.

Believe me, I built a case myself with this in mind and it's by far the most silent PC you can imagine, considering the machine inside of it is running at over 4ghz without speedstepping.

My guess is that it's minimal cost to add, but sells more units to the target demographic of teenage boys.

I think the demise of the "one family PC" and the popularity of laptops and tablets has meant that desktop PCs are more about someone's gaming machine than ever, so they're going to target that like crazy, even if it means they'll look like clowns in the process.

Case in point, both my parents work in the financial sector and all the computers in their offices have been laptops with docking stations for the past 10 years maybe, since that means the company can reduce the number of workspaces and tell people to work from home some days instead, and makes meetings easier. The office PC, as far as I can tell, is a relic of the past.

Best case I ever owned. I have two Fractal Design HF14 fans in the front and one on the bottom pulling in fresh air through filters. I have the H100i venting out the top as well as the stock fan venting out the back. The thing is virtually silent. The only time I can hear the hum of the fans is late and night when the world is asleep, and even then it is hardly noticeable. The R5 is a great case.

I used to use it to test MBs for friends. Right now It's just a steam box platform.

The fucking LED is stupid since it it's mounted in such a way that if it's a foot below eye height expect a burned in light blotch in your vision.

The mounting point for the PSU is dumb as well, since it forces a 90 degree bend in a 5 inch space.

I have a unique problem with the way it currently is setup, the power switch button cable doesn't reach the MB pinout without running under the video card.... with some tension.

I wouldn't recommend it, even as a test rig. I'm just glad it was only 60 bucks CAD when I got it.
