>tfw eveyone fell for the AMD hype train AGAIN
Jesus christ you guys are absolutely retarded.
Intel does what AMDon't.

Yup, I'm a retard, I should be doing what the enlightened 14 year olds from /v/ do and base my purchase for a workstation CPU on video game benchmarks, and not benchmarks that actually represents what I'm going to use it for

Gee whiz, only CPUs that cost twice as much as the Ryzen beats it! I'm such a retard for going with Ryzen!

Name me a workstation task that isn't hardware accelerated.
>>59206665
Running benchmark suites, duh
How can Intel ever recover?
>>59206665
>workstation task that isn't hardware accelerated.
What
>>59206725
Wow, perfect for my Linux hard drive chock full of CP!
>>59206621
Are you poor?
Lmao
Do you not play games?
Lmao

I like what I'm seeing, even w/ vr which is the only /v/ I get up to anymore
>>59206727
Basically every computationally intensive task nowadays is hardware accelerated, meaning that it can be processed by a specialty piece of hardware like a GPU rather than the general purpose CPU. Stuff like video rendering for example can be done on your video card much faster than it can be done on any CPU.
>>59206741
Why would I base what I buy a CPU on based on what will give me 1 or 2 more FPS in video games? If video games was the only thing I cared about then I'd buy a quad core and put the rest of the money towards a better GPU. My PC I built in 2013 still plays every game I want to play.

>mobile version of hardocp
>>59206844
Absolutely fucking not.
Compiling code? Nope.
Optimal encodes? Nope.
High-quality renders? Nope - only the preview is GPU-accel'd.
And that's just consumer shit. The HPC jobs I run as a physicist all run on CPUs. GPUs aren't a silver bullet.
>>59206484
>PC GAMER
/v/igger cattle.
>>59206484
Shit's hilarious desu
$500 Ryzen chip getting beat by $160 Intel chip
People actually pre-ordered this crap, just lmao.
Did you remember to contact intel before posting this review? I see you did nice work.
>>59207017
ummm this completely?
there's no fucking rendering you'd ever want to do on a fucking gpu unless you want garbage quality
