Since when are 6 year old games benchmark worthy? Shouldn't you be comparing newer games that people will actually play and buy?

Also >>>/v/igger thread
>>
I played gta v, it was a waste of money. Online is boring as fuck with nothing to do, and single player was extremely forgettable.

>>
>>59204190
WoW and MMOs in general are actually good CPU benchmark games, since they're heavily bottlenecked by the CPU and not GPU.

On WoW, I get 120-140 FPS in town and 40-60 FPS in raids with an i5 4570 and an R9 390, while the 390 is at like 20% usage at all times. It's a mix of the games not being graphically intensive at all, the engine being old as fuck and a clusterfuck in itself and a bunch of newer features that are not optimized and have heavy repercussions on the performance (particle effect issues are notoriously bad on WoW right now).

So ye, WoW and other MMOs make sense to use as benchmarks. Also, it's a widely played game, and a lot of people that plan to buy hardware for gaming would want to know how it does in the game they play.

this one youtubers results is the outlier of among everyone else's benchmarks showing the 1800x being total dog shit.

>Intelfags literally have to fall back to 2006 resolution with ps2-tier graphic settings
>they game at 800x600
>so poor they can't afford a $150 monitor
>they took out a loan like a applenigger so they can game on their 2006 monitor with a $320 CPU + ($30 delid tool)

>overclocked CHEAPEST 8 core ryzen performs the same as a overclocked 7700k in games, while even beating the 6950X in some tests and doing absolutely fantastic in workstation/production

Contemplate suicide.
>>
>>59204732
that's the 1700, not 1800x retard
>>
Pre-release benchmarks were already showing lower single-threaded performance. Why are people even surprised that Ryzen is a piece of shit?
>>
>>59203747
No surprises. Bulldozer optimized drivers run well on bulldozer. Not on Ryzen.

People will be surprised as new GPU drivers change this radically.
>>
>>59204782
whatever, his shit is fucked up and ryzen is total dog shit at gaymes

yeah its a different CPU mate. All the legit reviewers did the 1800X today and came to the conclusion its not a good buy for gaming. They haven't done the 1700 or 1700X yet.

>>59204713

>defending 720p
I'm sorry but you can get 4k monitors for dirt cheap now, I'm not planning on playing at 2005 resolutions.
>>
>>59204134
By this graph the 1700 has the same gaming performance as the 1800X thats not suspicious at all.
>>
>>59204881
It's overclocked slightly higher than a 1800X, can't you read?

intel damage control on full throttle, it seems. Take a look at this. How do you explain a 3.9GHz AMD processor having similar performance with intel's 5GHz house fire?

>>59204782
1800x is supposed to be better than 1700. can 1800x overclock higher?

seems legit

>>
>>59204898
I can read. The ryzen CPU's have a base clock, speed boost, and XFR. Just telling me its 3.9ghz doesn't tell me by what technology it reached that speed.
>>
>>59204698

>barely above an 8370

Totally legit.
>>
>>59204959
It's overclocked to base 3.9 like the 7700k is overclocked to base 5.0

It's seriously unbelievable how bad Ryzen actually is.

I mean I thought it wouldn't compete, but some of this shit just makes me laugh.

Here is a $500 Ryzen processor losing to a $183 Intel processor.

MORE CORES WE NEED MORE CORES MORE MORE MORE
>>
>>59204948
But it doesn't actually serve such a purpose because there are more considerations than just limiting the rez hence why you'll see some benchmarks where it isn't gpu bound at a higher rez and winning but losing at a lower rez. eg limiting rez =/= proper cpu performance testing.
>>
>>59203747
>almost same framerate as a processor that everyone knows it has better IPC

So WTF have AMD learnt?

The FX-8350 gets the same 4K score with the 1800X

the only positive is the lower TDP, but their 2-3 year old chip performs the same.
