The specs alone are not great for the money, but this form factor is probably not cheap to manufacture. And having played around with the Priv, at first I balked at the price point, but it is honestly one of the few Android phones I've come across that feels solid and well thought out. I imagine the KeyOne will be much the same. In fact I think the 625 was a conscious design decision and not just a cost saving measure. It's nice that it uses a more power efficient processor, because a slightly less powerful phone that can last all day is more useful than something very powerful that just chews through battery life and winds up dead by 4pm.

I bought a Priv near launch and I regretted it immensely at first, but it improved so much with the updates that it almost feels like a totally different phone. Now there is zero perceptible lag. None. Blackberry was still stupid for gambling so much on such a high end phone, because the execution for something at this price point needed to be perfect from the get-go and it just wasn't. But I can't fault them for rolling up their sleeves and fixing shit where most gook manufacturers would have washed their hands and moved on. Thinking of selling my iPhone 7, my main gripes with it are of course the headphone port, at first I thought I wouldn't miss it but then I forgot my dongl, and that the stock keyboard doesn't support dutch dictionary so I end up having to use Swiftkey (which is buggy as hell on iOS).

The battery life is pretty good, I get about 2 days of use out of it, but I am using the Apple battery case which extends it to about 3-4 depending on use.

I was thinking about getting the Lenovo P2, or maybe one of the cheaper Xiaomi phones because I mostly use my phone for texts and phonecalls. I don't care much for the camera, just want good battery life and performance. Preferably 5" but no bigger than 5.5".

I've had my Note 2 for 4 years, and it's been through several ROMs, and I've noticed that, even though I've flashed it and installed so much stuff onto it, it keeps track of how many times the headphone jack and micro USB port have been used as well as spen ejection times.
