Which distros does /g/ recommend?
Windows 10
>>58982411
Windows or MacOS.
>>58982411
for starting out use OpenSuse or Ubuntu
whichever looks more for you
Do you plan on using GNU alongside the Linux kernel to comprise a functional operating system or do you mean that you are literally going to use just the kernel?
Depends on which desktop environment and package manager you like best. Try out a bunch of different distros and DEs in virtualbox before committing.

Manjaro.
>>58982411
Windows 10 Pro
Ubuntu is well integrated in it.
>>58982456
Second for Manjaro
>>58982431
>OpenSuse
The KDE experience on OpenSuse is great.
ArchLinux is also great, their wiki is second to none.
hackintosh
gentoo
>>58982411
Fedora
Nigjaro
>>58982411
Gentoo for quite a while, then Arch.
Then for a while it was Solus.
This week it's mostly source mage.

Ignore open suse, fedora ,arch linux , gentoo, debian.
Go for ubuntu or linuxmint
>>58982411
Mint 18
>>58982411
Solus would probably be the best for a beginner
>>58982411
install source mage
>>58982411
Ubuntu
Manjaro. Switched from *buntus to it 2 months ago, best decision I ever made.

don't take this guy's advice
OpenSUSE, Fedora are good choices too. Ubuntu is also fine. I have different issues regarding each distro, none are perfect.

xubuntu. install it and don't worry about it.
>>58982411
Ubuntu GNOME
>>58982457
Underrated. I am running Rails server on it at the moment.
"well" is a bit of a stretch for now, though.
>>58982411
You can accomplish plenty on Fedora. Never used Ubunto myself, but I heard it is good for normalfags.
>>58982411
Boring office stuff like spread sheets: Red Hat, CentOS
Gaming and noobs general: Ubuntu
Entry-level coding: Debian, Fedora
Reale serious coding, top-end server stuff and hardcore hackers: Arch
kubuntu or lubuntu if you don't like learning
antergos or bunsenlabs if you want to learn
arch if you like a challenge
gentoo or funtoo if you hate yourself but seriously want to leave windows and nsa
>>58982411
If you need to get work done, Ubuntu.
>>58982411
Where on pic Arch?
