The issue is companies are bringing in workers paying them 100k when the same person would demand more because that's what the rate is and what they CAN get.

Whenever Ive worked with one of those h1b guys, they were completely capable experts. In my experience they were mostly niche-subject experts, good with specific obscurish technologies and kinds of integrations. Its not so much that they are "more talented" but that they have the exact correct experience.
