Hello all!

I have a review of the KZ ZSTs for you all :).

I have the Rock Zircons, KZ ATEs, Apple Earpods, and the Sennheiser OCX 685i headphones.

These headphones are bretty gud, especially for the price, the drivers aren't of the highest quality (obviously) but they do the job very well.

I wish it came with a case, the KZ ATE-S came with a case. I luckily bought extras but you would want to get one if you plan on these. I do need some nice tips so I should do more investing.

Fit's good, comfortable to wear. The KZ ATE has an overall less-developed sound. The KZ ZSTs have more bass, stronger mids, clearer (but not crystal) highs.

The Rock Zircons are pretty weak overall, they're very good for the price such as these but just weak. The Zircons lack bass completely.

The Sennheisers are better of course, but not by much. The Sennheisers have that signature crisp sound signature like all of their products so this is just missing that same edge. Otherwise it's right behind it.

The last would be the Earpods and compared to those, the ZSTs are much better. The Earpods lack substantial sound and the ZSTs have it. The ZSTs are also more comfortable.

Well I can compare the rock zircons to the piston 3

>Piston is darker and a bit more bloated
>Bass is boomy on the zircons yet the pistons aren't shy with it either
>Pistons are less sibilant, zircons tend a bit on the harsher high end, yet this grants them a bit more clarity
Mids are better on the pistons, vocals are more pronounced
Fit is a bit better on the zircons, depending on your ear shape, you may find them more isolating (both are OK)
Both are easily driven by my moto g

There are fakes of the piston, ask here if you're not sure. My zircons failed a bit from the mike, pausing involuntarily, but it seems to have gotten away on its own YMMV

I can also talk about the Sony mh1c if you're interested, but they have a big issue: j shaped flat cable, which I hated

with windows 10, you can drive the internal display of the monitor but i think you only get 60-70% efficiency of the card cos the mPCIe/HDMI cable has to transmit the signal both ways (as opposed to out of the laptop, into the gpu and out onto an external monitor)

the pic you posted with the bottom hairy part, it looks like a capacitor exploded and what you're seeing is the dielectric and the metal plates. in particular you can see the metal plate unwound in a spiral. Look at this picture (from google) for what a capacitor looks like inside.

Needless to say, don't use it with the busted cap.
