What will happen to Google and Microsoft now that they can't hire cheap Indian labor and can't import tens of thousands of H-1B visas and can't lower everyone elses' wages?

Will Google improve? Will Windows finally stop being a gigantic piece of shit?

Well their current strategy is to fire americans and hire pajeets out of spite.
Well not out of spite, it's 'while they still can'. Best load up on cheap immigrants while you still are allowed to, and worry about training them later.
Like keep a big-ass stock of them so you never need to hire americans ever again

WHAT ARE IMPORT TAXES FOR $1000, Alex?

PS: Next 8 years are gonna be glorious. Keep crying... I'm enjoying it.
>>
>>58731949
>Import taxes
Import taxes are paid for by the consumer you dumb shit. What exactly do you import when you're a software company?
You can literally transfer all the work over the internet and host the servers in Amerifat.
>>
First, this >>58731832

Second, Google and Microsoft are giant piles of shit because of their core business models, not because they cut labor costs by hiring H1Bs. Google is shit because they're an ad company, and therefore have a financial incentive to spy on you. Microsoft is shit because their product is mass-market wide-appeal proprietary software, which gives them a financial incentive to make it just barely as good as it needs to be to sell. Plus they want to follow the Apple model of making a walled garden and skimming a margin off it.

>>58731949
Only consumers will be paying import taxes, and having their standard of living hurt as a result. If you're a big multinational whose product is intangible, you can hire pretty much anywhere in the world you have a branch. Or just contract some other company to do something without hiring the people yourself.

Tariffs are shooting yourself in the foot.

I think it shouldnt make a difference at all for the big tech firms.
They can easily train their own people.

And small firms are unlikely to take the big step to import people.

You do have the risk of big tech companies setting up new operation abroad. In countries where poorer and still highly educated people live or where they still can import people. Companies are very bad at following regulations.
>>
>>58731946
Is is cheaper to move people than it is to move company HQs.

To add. Google, Microsoft, Apple and so on are already very active in Ireland (development, data centers, tax evasion), The Netherlands (datacenters and tax evasion) and other countries. And the wages of the people there are lower than in America.
>>
>>58732045
Greedy corporations are going to continue being greedy corporations?
>>
>>58731586
M$ and Google will relocate their HQ to India, get all the pajeets they need. Then simply send over the finished product to US branch for distribution.

I can see it happening, these companies have money to burn, they can open offices in the middle of the ocean if they wanted.
>>
>>58731949
They will pass on the import cost to US consumers, like every other company.
>>
>>58731832
No but there could be shit tier programmers in other jobs that will fill the shit programing jobs when the good programmers that are working shit programming jobs move up.

It will make them less competitive and incentivize them to open overseas branches which many of them already have.
While it is a country's full right to determine who can work in it and under what condition, the market is the market and capitalism is capitalism. If you are really talented and motivated as Americans you already are in an advantageous position to not get affected by cheap IT labors anyways because you will be working in positions that foreign workers, even skilled ones, can't work in.

The moral of the troops would be incredibly low, so people from the army would refuse or even desert.

they will be required to hire competant people in there respected fields and skilled contractors and freelancers that support f.l.o.s.s. will emerge and it will allow better hardware and software support for cheaper with more local innovation

im pretty excited honestly.

screw apple/microsoft

google will adapt because they built up with the community.

Protip: Companies can still hire pajeets, but the H1B system is being changed so that they'd have to pay for them. IE- H1B applications that are for low paying positions go at the bottom of the pile.
If they want a pajeet they need to shell out the big bucks.

Can't happen. The only ONE (1) time a race-based restriction worked after slavery was abolished was in World War II after actual people died in Pearl Harbor and the country was at war.
The question is, is Trump willing to kill servicemen (not civilians like 9/11) and start WW3 (not just a localized conflict like The """"war"""" on """""""""terror""""""""""") just so he can stop streetshitters from entering the US?

I can only speak for germany, but here the top notch salaries in development(no management bullshit) are around 80k before taxes(also you only get those from big american companies and maybe a few DAX companies).

But with that salary you are in the 40+% income tax bracket, so with health care and all you are easily over 60% taxes.

So at the end of the day are somewhere between 30k and 40k per year, before subtracting the costs of living.

Ford is in the business of selling physical goods, not software. Physical goods can't be moved anywhere on earth instantaneously via the internet. Ford also has great scope to automate their production further to save on wages. For all the advances, you can't yet automate programming. (You can automate a lot of sysadmin work, which is one reason why datacenters can be anywhere)

And lastly do recall that protectionism hurts your standard of living. You're paying a tax, through increased prices, to support production that would otherwise be uneconomical.

The wagses for US/EU devs are higher because they produce higher quality products and actually understand what they are being told when spoken to.
Outsourcing datacentres and support is one thing, which is completely wrong imho, but moving the productive part of the company won't work that easy.
They'd have to fire their workers or make them move, which is more expensive than simply staying in the US and paying the US workers their money.

>>The wagses for US/EU devs are higher because they produce higher quality products
You assume that that's what companies want and need. For some things, yes, they do, but for a lot of software development, they don't need high quality, they just need something vaguely functional at the lowest possible cost. The reason they resist is because you're trying to make them pay more for something that they don't want.

LMAO MODS CONFIRMED PAJEETS
>>
>>58738168
The cost of living in the places they operate are astronomical and the fact you used outliers as an example is ridiculous. I make close to that in the midwest and i been in the industry long enoug that the guys i interview and hire get offered less than i did 10 to 12 years ago right out of school. Theyre getting fucked because ranjeev gets a working vacation for 3 years in a nice American metro. He doesnt complain, takes the salary without negotiation because fuck it i get to post pictures on facebookof american living and make 5x what i would make in india even if theyre comparatively low for american wages. 3 years goes by you get kicked out because you managed a 10 percent raise. Now the visa gets taken away and theres a patel willing to take your position for the pay you took 3 years ago because lol 60000 more visas to india. You do this 5-6 times and you get wage stagnation over about 15 years. American grads are now wage takers, not wage setters. Like i said i do the hiring. I help set their career levels t hire. I know whats going on and this is fixing. If youre in cs right now amd a citizen you should be celebrating. Everyone is going to geta salary boost if it sticks

I did some research on wages of developers in the west and tech is king in the US. there are german and british developers that want to work in the us for opportunity and a real salary increase but they cant because the system is clogged will diploma mill poos. US Developers make 15-20 percent more than western european counterparts at all levels. Any european will tell you muh 6 weeks holiday, muh socialism, muh paternity leave, but i get to live in a mc mansion, shoot guns and drive a nice car because cost of living is lower and real wages are higher.

Additionally, salaries are driven down by EU cooperation. What youre saying is true but those czech amd romanian programmers can score jobs in london, amd berlin therefore driving down salaries more.

Hmm, its almost like letting the poorest masses in the world unfettered access to your job market will fuck it up.

American developers are better but they're more expensive. So what these companies do is hire more H-1B visa holders and create a supply of developers so then everyone's salary goes down.

It's simple economics.

Basically this. Protectionism cam only make products more expensive which eventually cuts into consumer's living standards.

How much money do you think an American will ask for working on an assembly line that's supposed to replace Foxconn?

Could they compete with Foxconn China's salaries of 211 dollars net per month? :)

If not, an iPhone may have to cost at least 1000 bucks, cheapest model, even assuming labor costs don't represent a big chunk of overall costs, there are other costs pertaining to supply chains being located mostly in Asia. It's not just a country..

>WHAT ARE IMPORT TAXES FOR $1000, Alex?
Now, think this through.

Earlier, companies brought labor over to US, paid salary and social expenses for said employees. And those employees paid taxes and bought shit from US, thus used money. Fueled the economy a bit.

Now, what companies are going to do, is employ the forementioned employees in foreign lands, probably via a recruitment agencies or similar. There will be less money used on US soil, less taxes paid and less food stamps given to you.

But there'll be less brown and yellow shades of people around you, so I guess that's a win.

My yuropoor country only takes in the most savage and poor black people, who will not do any work. I'd gladly exchange our non-working subsaharan blacks to your working poo in the loo's.
