>fell for the take EE instead of CS meme
>now realise I could get away with taking an easier degree and still achieve the same amount of success
you fell for the college meme in general. College is worth Jack shit unless you want a higher paying career.

Who doesn't want this??!?

if you're a real-ass ~*~*engineer*~*~ you can get a job practically anywhere inside or outside of tech. my bro did EE and got a job at a reactor the month after graduation, then got tired of living in the sticks, so now he looks at patents for a big dick law firm.
what does cs have to offer? some indian dude eating your lunch in 5 years?

>STEM major gets a consulting job
You act as if this is limited to engineering. Where do you think physicists and math majors work outside of academia?

TFW I'm about to graduate with a degree in Chemistry and regret not doing EECS.

Having 'engineer' in your certificate will double your chance at most jobs

what cunt?
EE here, currently doing a masters in control engineering. Imo CS is harder because of how many programming projects you need to churn out, here it's mostly just applied math and matlab "programming".

At my school there was a huge overlap between the two degrees.
CS had the digital part of EE, and more programming
EE had basic programming, and analogue circuits in addition to digital.
Education should be free, which you shouldn't have paid for, even under fafsa's free goverment support bux or other free(?) financial aid/s.
No one has mentioned the masterful combination of both CS and EE: Computer Engineering (CE). I have one year left on my bachelors, feels good to know power+circuits, TTL logic, hardware synthesis using Quartus II, linux kernel+device driver programming, assembly programming, and C and C++ programming.

Don't EEs need to learn C at least for microcontroller programming?
