Northface Recon.
I drive a motorbike so it needs to be a backpack. It has multiple felt line pouches including one large one for a laptop, and other gadgets. Isn't too large for daily use due to cinching straps (Also I'm 6'1 ~215lb) but can expand up to ~35 litres for anything a bit more strenuous. Best bag I've ever owned.

I'm using the Bag of Holding from ThinkGeek. It's starting to fray from the corners of my computer, and I'd kind of prefer a bag that's less...nerd culture-y, but none of the other messenger bags I've found are as functional. It's got two separate main compartments so I can keep my laptop separate from my other EDC stuff, and a tablet sleeve in the laptop compartment that I've yet to see anywhere else.
>>
>>58430391
I carry around a messenger bag when I bring my laptop, but it feels so goddamn girly.
To sit down with a messenger bag on a bus, you have to put it on your lap, like a girl.

They are robust.
Concerning tight fit: I'm not talking thickness. I think with the big battery it's gonna be pretty tight. If it's a bit loose it's still as tight as possible because there are just no bags that take these bulky batteries into account.
Concerning HDD: I have an mSATA SSD and a 320GB HDD in there. I don't even own a bike so I should be fine with that. Besides, you can only cause real damage if the HDD is operating while you drop it and even in that case Thinkpads have a safety mechanism.

I've had both and prefer backpacks easily.
Problem with a messenger bag is you have to put it over your head if you want to be hands free, otherwise it will slip off your shoulder.

Doesn't sound like a big deal, but if I was using them for IT purposes at remote locations & always had something in my hands. The backpack was just much more convenient and you didn't have to put it over your head everytime you had your hands full.

It has a thin layer of really smooth fabric in it that doesn't scratch and even came with beeswax for the exterior (imported from italy)

I added some extra padding but the the bag is divided into two large compartments along the length of the bag. I mainly keep my laptop in it and I toss it in my car on the floor and nothing has been damaged in the year I have owned it.

This.

I have an Ogio Surge RSS and it is the best backpack I have ever had. It has a soft, padded laptop compartment that sits close to your back and doesn't go to the bottom of the bag. Not a choice for poorfags, unfortunately.

I use the same Jansport backpack I've used for 7 years.

Also there are two smaller compartment towards the back as well as two large front zippers pouches. The overall build feels like a dream. I've had people try and steal it from me at work so I keep it at home. Fucking shame.

What kind of niggers do you work with?

I've not had it long. It was a Christmas present from my girlfriend.

It's real leather (smells like it at least) and has plenty of space for a laptop, multiple notebooks, tablets, power banks, etc. It even comes with a cable holder to stop small cables getting tangled in your bag. The strap is detachable as well, if you prefer to use it as a briefcase type thing. It's honestly leaps and bounds better than any messenger bag or backpack I've had in the past in terms of looks, space and organisation.

Oh and no tearing to be found. Doesn't feel like it would tear easily, either.

North Face BC Messenger Bag

Bought it for around €80. It's spacious enough for a my laptop, computer and usb charger, assorted cables, power bank, mechanical pencil and notepad. I can still fit more stuff in it but I don't usually need it.

You can measure your laptop, send them the specs and get a perfect fit

Did that for my T450s with the extended battery because of its unusual shape. Very happy with it.

Cool! Yeah girlfriends are Great she got me mine too. I just wish there was a tad more padded.

Also I'd be wary of a 50 dollar bag that's "genuine" leather. I don't discredit bags easy either as yours look very functional.

You never want to be the one who bring a naruto or Zelda bag to a board meeting with people who make 7 figures unless the CEO has a hard on for that.

>"genuine" leather
That's just a grade of leather meant to fool consumers. It's actually very shitty leather and one of the worse grades you can get. If you want something leather that lasts, avoid anything that advertises "genuine leather".

Think this is too /fa/ggoty? The shoulder straps are way too small to be worn as a backpack, plus some asshole wrote his name on both sides of it. On the plus side, it fits my X220 almost perfectly. I could snap the straps together and carry it over my shoulder.

Going to try fabric stain remover on the sharpie tomorrow, wish me luck.

I have the brown one and it still works fine after almost 2 years. Minimal fading as well. Love it.

I carry this for work.

I carry it because I carry a laptop, legal pads, multiple files, a phone and a mini projector. I sell insurance.
