How come so many tech enthusiasts ignore tech shilling?
Is it because most of them are shills themselves? Or are they just naive?
Take for instance the stark contrast between forums with high levels of moderation and forums like /g/ with low levels of moderation.
Hacker News for example is filled with shills for Microsoft, and lots of other proprietary software companies. On /g/ many of us know and understand programming, yet we have an obvious pro-Linux bias.
I think any true programmer would agree that Linux is the best OS for programming and Windows is the worst. Even programmers on OS X and Window are running Linux either through a container or a VM or compatibility layer. That's because Linux has superior package management to any other platform, and because most new and/or open source languages support Linux to a greater extent than Windows and OS X (go, rust, C, C++, Haskell, Lisp, etc). Pretty much the only languages supported on the other operating systems are languages produces by Apple and MS themselves. Ever noticed how .NET gets shilled really hard too?
So why do people just ignore it and not talk about it?

Because most tech literates assume others are aware of tech shilling.
Femanon here.
Well this is a hobby board, and Linux is a hobby OS.
It's like discussing toy trains at a board meeting.

Because 99% of them are dumb pretending that they are not

How is this board different from /r/programming and /r/Linux? Which are also filled with MS shills.
But you're shilling Linux right now.

You can't shill free software you retard. Only advocate for it.
If you seriously thin Windows is a better OS than Linux you probably don't understand dick about computers and only use Windows for gaming. You shouldn't be on this board.
People don't mind propaganda as long as they agree with it

>"shill"
>no true scotsman garbage
>"us"
>implying YOU can actually program and you're not just another consumershit toddler whining about board quality for good boy points
