My buddy is trying to sell me an i5 3400k, saying it's better than my CPU (A8-5600k).

I'm no computer expert, but these numbers look pretty similar to me.

the i5 draws less power
the i5 is significantly better on multithreaded performance (about 50% better I would say)
they are about the same on single thread applications
