Zuk would be parallel to the Redmi 4 Prime in most aspects

I bought a Samsung 64 gb EVO+ micro SDXC uhs-I card, and I think it might be fake.

The packaging says it has a read speed of 80MB/s and a write speed of 20MB/s.

When I put the card in my phone it told me that the card was slow and probably won't work correctly. It gave me some problems so I reformatted it and put it in my PC and tested it with H2testw and got

Writing speed: 535 KByte/s
Reading speed: 18.1 MByte/s

So did I do this correctly or not? Thanks
>>
>>58280100
Its probably just a faulty one, where did you buy it? Try to make your warranty valid anyway, run that thing through crystal disk mark shizuku edition and screencap it if it tells you the same, then send the image to those guys if online or go to the store if physical with the image on your phone or something,

This is why i havent moved from 32 GB sd cards even if i need the space, too costy and i dont wanna risk 40+ dollars because poorfag.

Well premium brand+it being relatively cheap=good, by the way how much did it cost you? I got a 32 GB class 10 sony sd card for 12 dollars last month and its really good.

After getting fucked over by a vaio laptop 4 years ago that was shitty beyond words i swore to always research whatever i wanted to buy extensively before the actual purchase and wait a month and half whenever i was interested in a new phone/console/laptop that just came out to see if it has any glaring flaws ala note 7 or lg g4.
>>
>>58280540
Nothing, it is just too big, practically tablet size, and it has the same specs and features as the smaller (5.5") Redmi Note 3 Pro, which is currently THE chinkphone of choice if you want a good smartphone with insane community support for less than 150 dollars.

If you want a meme phone with good camera and battery duration (5000 mAh iirc) to shitpost from the bed go for it, otherwise buy the RN3P which is only slightly worse (shitty camera, 4050 mAh battery).

Okay /g/uys, I need some help.

So I noticed my phone's been dying quite a bit faster. In that right now it's at 65% but I could unplug it and it drops to 20% in 10 minutes but goes right back up to 65% as soon as I plug it in.

Budget: Any fine, unless the Nexus 6p is worth upgrading.

It's okay
I only have like three or four apps that I downloaded through one of those google play apk downloaders (mainly: http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/), for the rest f-droid is enough

So my mom's birthday is around the corner and she's in need of a new phone. I need some help picking one out. I'd like to get her a durable one, she isn't a poweruser though. Any recommendations?

It's good. Kinda wish it was about a half inch smaller though, it's juuuust big enough that using it entirely one handed is difficult. Other than that, all the HTC versions of the normal Android stuff is good, although I wish it was vanilla, just cause fuck reinventing the wheel when we already have a good standard for the UI.

I can vouch for the ZTE zmax2. Great for under $100 with a removable 3000mah battery, SD card slot, GSM unlocked, Qualcomm 410, 16gb onboard storage and 2gb ram. Performance is up there with my motto x 2014. Downside is the speakers aren't that great and the screen is 720, but it doesn't look bad. Gets pretty bright. I go 2 days on a charge with moderate use.

Nah I had the Moto Droid Razr M before I got the gs5. It was decent; I was anti-apple at the time and it phone was the closest thing to an iPhone with Android.

I got the GS5 when it came out.
desu I used to be an Android fanboy so I looked past its flaws (camera and multitasking were slow on day one, can't uninstall bloatware or TouchWiz without rooting) because muh specs, muh hardware. Now my phone is slow, glitchy, and crashes often.

iPhone always has been and always will be #1 in terms of speed and app quality, which is what actually matters for me.

Hey guys I am getting a deal with Sprint due to a friend working there gave me an employee deal. Unfortunately I have to trade up phones for this so I need to get a new one. I get a discount on the phones so they are all about the same price, but I cannot decide between an HTC 10, HTC Bolt, or an LG G5. Anyone can give me any indication which I should go with? From my research these all seem fairly comparable but I have never used any of these phone manufacturers.

Iphone was an option too but I don't really like iOS and they run about 100-150 bucks higher. Also battery life matters to me and every iphone I see has shit battery.

HTC Bolt

>>
>>58292582
Thanks, friend. Like >>58293003 said, how common are the bootloops? I am just really on the fence about getting a 10 since I heard the 11 comes out this year so I am iffy about buying soon to be outdated technology. Thats why even though I prefer android I am not totally against an iphone possibly.

>>58293086

Didn't know that about the G5, that pretty much eliminates the G5 from my consideration. Thanks for the info again.

I would prefer not to but I may as well consider it considering the obsolescence nearing the Android options. But that will come with research I will do on my own. I mainly came to get an answer for the Android options and I got my answer, so thanks.

I need your help /spg/, I wanted to get a new smartphone for 250-300€, would the Xperia Z3 be a good choice?
My wife uses it and is very content with it but it has been so many years since I had a new phone and there are all these new companies around so it's hard to decide.

I can compare specs but oftentimes, certain phones work a lot slower/worse than others in the same price range or have other negative stuff to look out for that's not commonly named.

>>58293349

As long as battery is in decent shape. That's an older phone now and some people are hard on batteries.

SD 801 won't get nougat as far as I know unless maybe a custom ROM.

Otherwise, the Z3 line was decent. Battery life was great and the design of the phone wasn't terrible. I had a Z3c, was a great phone only issue I had was with the proximity sensor. Paint on the glass was too dark and it would just stay off in phone calls, couldn't turn on the screen.

>Budget

Budget's a bit tight due to being a poor college fag.
I'm willing to buy new or refurbished, also willing to buy a device that's a few years old if good enough, it doesn't need to to be brand new.
I also don't do anything intense on my phone, most demanding things being video playback and maybe some emulation. Anything as good as SD801 or better is good enough.

And no I'm not getting a G4 plus, no I'm not getting a Xiaomi (don't work in the States), and no I'm not getting a zuk

You pretty well shot down the best low end/mid range phones really.

The Moto G4 play is a great all around cheap phone. Runs stock Android for the most part and is decently built.

The only other thing I could recommend is perhaps an older S5 but I can't stand touchjizz. Check what your carrier has. Moto g play is college fag phone IMO. It was 2gb of RAM and an SD410, battery life is excellent. Oh and 5 inch screen, 720p. Camera is a little on the meh side, but it does alright.

zuk z2 just came in the mail a few hours ago, bought from banggood. using in australia, 64gb / 4gb ram version

Pros so far:
> camera is great in natural light, both front and rear
> touch id is much faster than my old phone (iphone 6) and can be activated from sleep mode
> resolution is good for the screen size, big enough to be clear but not so big that it drains battery
> everything is fast, no lag on any of the stock apps + i downloaded asphalt 8 and it runs very smooth
>great 3Dmark score (2355 on slingshot extreme, performing slightly under phones like s7 active, pixel, edge)
>screen is bright enough to comfortably use in harsh sunlight

cons so far
> camera quality lowers drastically in lower / indoor light
> rear camera, while great in natural light, does not have much close-up detail - images appear blurrier when zoomed in (i know this applies to all phones and cameras but it is much more noticeable here)
> back of phone is glass - really really slippery, placing it on my wood desk and charging it causes it to slide around if the cable is even slightly moved
> a bit on the thicker side (but some people might prefer this)
> screen shot is a bit weird to get used to (vol down + lock)

definitely worth it for how much i paid (260aud)
>>

There's not really a reason for these anymore unless you are extremely careless. Gorilla glass 4 is really scratch resistant, and these screen protectors won't stop your actual screen from cracking as well as a case.
>>
What's it take to scratch the s7 edges screen? I have a case on it and it's fallen some good heights onto my floor and it's been fine but I don't have a screen protector and I'm always super worried about scratching it
>>
>>58297520
I have an Otter Box on the actual phone, but the screen protector is so my job doesn't damage the actual screen. I'll look it your suggestion, anon. Thanks.
>>
>>58297579
Its not really a suggestion, I meant that if your phone already has GG4 not much is going to scratch it.
>>
>>58297613
2016 samsung flagships had GG4 and the screen got scratched to shit if you had dust or anything in your pocket, notably the note 7 this was amongst its many complaints besides not being an upgrade whatsoever from the s7e in terms of specs (OP3 had 6 ram but this phone had a mere 4) or even design (just a bigger s7e) even though note phones were known to be outright superior to main galaxy series (s5 and n4), thank fuck the phone died miserably otherwise dumb normalfags would have been tricked into buying an even more ezpensive s7e with a retina scanner and nothing more.
>>
>>58297673
Unless you live in the desert and have sand in your pockets your screen shouldn't be getting scratched
>>
>>58297673
The note 7 was way too much money for what it offered. However there are also videos of people scratching keys and knives against GG4 on YouTube and no scratches are left.

My Z2's digitizer got fucked up, but I was otherwise perfectly happy with it.
My main concern is the headphone jack, since Sony's been doing that thing with the 5-pole noise-cancelling earbuds.

There's a thread on XDA developers about it. It looks about as complex as rooting a phone, which isn't that bad.
>>
>>58297824
Shouldn't it be the other way around? The Pixel has the better camera, while the S7 edge is the better overall phone.
>>

You just install some drivers and do some fastboot shit to remove the ads and unlock the bootloader, then you flash the stock rom, stay with the one you have or go for a custom rom

It is hard in the sense that it might not work at all because of incompatible drivers, your usb ports being faulty, the cable etc, be warned that this is for the amazon moto G4 (5.5"), not the amazon G4 play (5"), atm there is no known safe way of removing them or unlocking the bootloader.

Personally ive never had a phone where i had to unlock the bootloader to flash CM/some custom rom on it or mess around with fastboot, it seems too much of a hassle, all i had to do in my previous phones was root, install a recovery and install the rom via CWM

I let my apps auto update, and I hadn't updated them in a while, now a bunch of apps (chrome, Sony album) crash on launch. Any tips?
>>

You'd lose the compact factor unfortunately, as the Robin is a 5.2"er.
However, you would have a solid hexacore Snapdragon, 3gb of ram, a solid 1080p IPS screen, and a pretty good camera (provided you've got a good amount of light).
It also works on just about any network, and has USB C and the benefits of being the manufacturer's ONLY current phone (so you won't get shafted for updates for a long time)

HTC has the best OEM Android skin so no. Not unless you want to have stock android without the sense UI.

>>58296531
Both are shit.
One boitloops and the other is a fire hazard with one of the worst android skins ever.

HTC 10 if you want all around the best phone.
Pixel if you want the best camera and fastest updates but a very dull phone otherwise.
OP3T for the best value.

My dad wants to buy his first smartphone because he plans on starting a business. Any phablets under $400? I tried to tell him the OnePlus 3t is great but that's apparently too expensive.

hello /spg/ I have a samsung galaxy note 3 I bought 2 years ago that won't charge. What I mean by that is that every time I plug it to a power outlet it won't get any charge, and when I use it while its plugged it will drain the battery instead of charging. Now it won't even get any voltage from any power outlets around the house, and other houses as well, I have tried different usb cables and ac adapters for said usbs and I believe they arent the problem. I don't want to make my already long story longer, so my question is, should I replace the battery or get a new phone? If so which phone is gud my carrier is t-mobile and I do pay for the "jump" warranty jew-thingy. Thank you and love you all.
>>
I haven't kept up with how the HTC 11 is speculated to turn out. Does it look like it's shaping up to be worth buying over the 10?
>>
Shill me into buying HTC 10
>>
My friends samsung galaxy s2 is fucked and not turning on, is it possible to solder to the nand and copy stuff over? I just wanna get the pics off it.

I have an old android phone I want to be able to send audio to over my wifi. (I'll connect the old phone to some speakers). Does anyone know an app that will let me do this? Maybe make it act like a chromecast or something?

It's pretty shitty, currently running cm7.

>Shot down the best low end/mid range phones
Notice how I said G4 plus, that thing starts at $250, and because /g/ is how they are, they disregard budget
And I don't mind flashing another ROM onto the office if need be
>>58296529
How's the camera on the those phones? And does the axon mini carry over the speakers and DAC of its larger version?

OnePlus 3T or Axon 7?

Friend of mine is in Singapore. Worth them getting a $330 iPhone 6 for me or will the phone be fucked up? Is tech cheaper there?

Currently on a 5s

I get all sorts of apps asking me to use fingerprint to login. How secure is it?

how the hell do i use both sims on my mi max

I know that Mi5C hasn't been released yet, but I'm already impressed by its performance and camera.

one sim is sd card
>>
Thinking about the Axon 7 but I heard it can be a bad hombre. Is there anything out there for $400 for a US carrier? I'm sort of considering the 64gb OP3T but no microsd slot is kind of a deal breaker.
>>
Looking for a cheap like 200-300 euro phone that is good at doing basic stuff like messenger, playing music and a decent camera, nothing fancy.
No idea if the the price range is reasonable though as i have no clue about smartphones. Im from germany if that matters.

Do you care about
>better software
>better ROM support
>better camera
>slightly better specs
Then get the OP3T

If you care about
>better battery life
>better screen
>better audio
>SD card
Then get Axon 7

Just had my RN3P arrive, if I try to unlock the bootloader what's the likelihood I'll run into that stuck at 50% problem so many people seem to have?

I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime that I recently got thanks to /g/ and love it so far.

I am conflicted as to whether I should flash another ROM onto the device.

Every says the pre-installed ROM is a botnet but others say that Flashing it will cause problems such as the camera not being as nice etc.

What should I do, should I flash to Cry? And if I do, does that mean I can still keep a track of the phone if I lose it via Find Phone in Mi?
>>
just got my redmi n3, what apps should i install to replace the preinstalled stuff? ibdont agree with the privacy statement.

I need something on my wrist that can tell the time, being able to show me notices would be handy too. I work in an environment where I cannot have a phone out but smartwatches are fine.
>>
>>58302068
Strap your phone to your arm and call it a smart watch
