I assume you're talking about public trackers like KAT or the pirate bay (unless you want to go down the private tracker autism rabbit hole) but for really casual stuff like that, I know PIA for sure has a socks5 proxy that you can add to your torrent client. That way you could use your VPN solely for the purpose of torrenting if you wanted to while browsing the internet through your regular connection.

Generally though PIA is pretty trustworthy and the way organizations like the RIAA combat piracy is through mitigation, not prevention. So they only really go after the lowest hanging fruit, which is people who don't know anything about what they're doing. They generally target the largest swarms (like popular television shows and films) and go after people that are unprotected by VPNs or VPSs.

That's to say, logging into facebook with your VPN on will more than likely be fine, unless you're super paranoid. In which case you should look into a seedbox or VPS.
