I still wouldn't recommend a dagger in that case. A ka-bar can be used as a survival and a combat knife, while you'd seldomly use a dagger. Get a cheap boot knife if you're hell-bent on getting a dagger

A knife is a bad choice for self defence for a couple of reasons. Rather take an expandable baton and pepper spray, it's a way more effective combination and it not get you into jail.
