Spotify is for plebs, can't rip songs from that. I use Google Music Play + gmusicproxy. I just pay the $10 a month and I can grab everything I want in 320k. If you make 90mb requests for 320s I will fill them. If you want an EP or an album you will need to put in more than that. If you can't afford that much buffer you are doing it wrong. Especially on the pooloo, I'm not on that tracker but racking up shit tons of buffer and using it for requests there should be easy.

A lot of their ideas are really out there though (I wanna have it like an MMO where you have classes!). I understand where he's coming from with wanting to keep everything the same for the moment. Given that the BP system suggestion thread is pretty active (and back from the dead) I don't think he's ruled out bonus systems entirely, I think he's just really focusing on keeping PTH stable before trying anything radical. The downside of PTH being what is basically the "best-run, safest, most likely to succeed" is that all the other trackers can try out whatever systems they want and will always have PTH to collapse their userbase in on if they fuck it up. PTH is pretty much the music tracker failsafe, and it seems like he really wants to make sure there's nothing that could go wrong and jeopardize that status.

It might not be like that at all but that's the impression I've gotten so far in all of this. Everyone else is free to innovate, but PTH is forced to be the "mature" one for now, and people don't always like being told no.

Usually the recruitment is higher than PU and has an account timer (been a member of 1 year or more or something) to be elligble, so it's not realistic to try to join a tracker and rank up just to join as it'll be gone by the time you get the rank.
