Need to be able to read the time in the dark, so either top-tier luminous paint, tritium tubes or lit by a led/whatever when I push a button

Most I've come across that have good night visibility are either too busy or look like a divers/pilot watch, I'd rather a dressier looking watch that I can read in the dark.

I have a Q&Q watch that was gifted to me, that is about the same price as a Timex. The case is built in China, but it's stainless steel as opposed to Timex's use of cheaper brass cases and loud quartz movements. The movement is one of the small Citizen Miyota movements, so it's accurate and reasonably durable. It fits all of your criteria except for the optional date window, and its a nice clean design.
>>
>>58143514
It's only regulated in one position at the factory. That and sealing it just ensures that you throw it away once the movement starts to lose accuracy. Though it's not like it was accurate to begin with.

I'm searching for a daily casual watch. Is 42mm too big for everyday use?
I'm tied between a white Explorer II and a black Sub. I think a white Explorer would be easier to match with my fit than a black one. However, I think the Submariner would be more subtle with its 40mm diameter.

I think the screen is fine. I don't know why people rant about it so much. I used it for a year when I was in the army.

Don't know about underwater.

Backlight is fine, perfect to read at night. It does bleed trough the screen if that's what you mean. Exactly how it looks in the dark.

A blue Ray MK.ll, as the deal on black turtle broke off.

Still looking to get my hands on a Turtle or a NY0040.

From the assortment of parts on you hands it looks like a 1 jewel pinlever movement that looks like one of these old Swiss monopusher chronographs (EB movement perhaps?), and a small fully jeweled watch movement meant for either a female watch or perhaps a small tonneu case.

Casio MTP*
There's a ton of models, from 3 handers, to solar powered ones to chronos
I have an MTP4500D as my daily wear and I love it.
Also own an MTP tank style and it's a great little dress watch.
They're all steel, and have standard lug widths so you can change out the strap/bracelet
Also Casio movements are as quiet as they are accurate, there's no ticking at all, even if you put it against your ear you'll only hear it very faintly.
>>
>>58153524
>Speedy pro
Good, you have a good dress piece and generally bad ass watch that is a true luxury timepiece.

>Sinn 903
It's a Breitling knockoff, and it will always be a Breitling knockoff. Don't degrade yourself buying shitters, especially because you seem to actually have taste. I realize that the Navitimer is a lot more expensive but if you're not willing to spend that much I would honestly just keep the Sinn of the list, especially because you already have the chronograph area covered.

>Seiko MM300

Good daily beater tool watch. Not much more to say.

>>GS Snowfrake

Unbelievably beautiful but good fucking lord are they in a bad price point relative to what else you can get in for $5000. Also I don't like how cheap titanium feels, it's like you have an aluminum watch.

>Seiko SARX003

Boring as shit m8. And you already have Seiko dress watch covered. I would add a Rolex Airking or maybe a JLC dress watch in it's place.

>>
>>58153667

>>
>>58153650
The SARX is a "backup" if by the time I can afford the snowflake it still isn't possible to service them in the US.

The 903 is not a knockoff. Sinn literally own the design, and the best part is that the 903 is literally better than the Navitimer in everyway
>100M WR compared to splash proof
>41mm compared to 44mm or whatever the fuck size the navitimer is at now
>Easily serviceable movement
>More precise slide-rule, yes I actually use it
>3.5k new used as opposed to 8-9k for the navitimer
>Sinn is independent, Brietling is being sold yet again

It is owned by but separate from the Fossil brand. It's a fashion watch brand, much maligned here, but they use a decent quality Miyota quartz movement, and a stainless or titanium case (depending on the model) . I've heard about issues with the hardened mineral crystal, but I got one gifted to me a couple of years ago from my daughter, and the crystal and case are still scratch free, and the watch keeps excellent time. She picked it up at Costco for well under retail, about the price of a Timex, and it's a much better built watch.

The model pictured is the one I have with the titanium case, and it's a pretty decent and durable daily wear watch.

I used to have one of their super thin watches in the early 2000's. They make nice looking products, but I can't imagine the resale value is very good, especially since the construction wasn't great, at least when I had one. The black finish of my bracelet started wearing off within a year and you could see some of the stainless steel underneath. This was a watch I wore while working as a waiter. Since there were no scratches on the bracelet, I could tell it was just my shirt cuff and jacket sleeve that were rubbing the black finish off.

Very cheap stuff.

A sweater made of human hair? Let me tell you a story.

There is a small island in the Himalayan Sea called Malderiki, upon which I own a large mansion. Every year afer the first rain, the Newport Beach Wine Society (of which I am a member) gathers at my mansion to watch the island's natives grovel in the mud as their pathetic straw dwellings are ripped apart by the rising waters. On this island there is also a fish, called a Piranha Giganticus. Coinciding with the first rain, this fish swims into the flooded island and begins to feed on the older and weaker natives of Malderiki. Unable to defend themselves from the killer fish and uttrly helpless, the natives make their way to my mansion in makeshift canoes. At this point, the Newport Beach Wine Society opens a bottle of pre-revolution French Chardonnay, dated no later than 1760, and places wagers on which native will be the first to reach the high ground of my sprawling lawn. Once the fish has fed and returned to the Sea, there are typically a handful of natives left on my lawn, at which point we activate the electric fence and release the crocodiles. Last year, during the crocodile feeding, a tiny speck of native flesh was flung from the lawn up to the balcony where the Newport Beach Wine Society was gathered and landed on my shoe. I retrieved the piece of flesh and placed it in my mouth, washing it down with a glass of Moldovan Pino Griggio. Right now, YOU are that piece of flesh

Blatant homage? Tisell.
Quartz? Go casio.
Otherwise? Pick your favorite microbrand.

Do they really?

I'm probably going to get myself a marathon gsar for a tacticool daily beater pretty soon since I saw a pic on WUS of FNL's Coach Taylor wearing one but wondering what my "serious" watch purchase of 2017 should be: sbga083/85 or rolex 14270 or 114270 if i can find one that's minty or NOS.

hey guys, i found this today buried in a jewelry box in one of the many closets at my grandmother's house. i'm 100% sure it's a knock off, but i'm interested in knowing when it was made. anyone have any experiences with fakes?

fox fire vs illuminator?
>>
>>58159686
Why no orient? I have one and really like it.
>>
>>58160276
I just want something that isn't Japanese, I feel like I have too many Japanese watches.
>>
>>58160300
ok just wondering. I dont know much about watches so I didnt know if there was something wrong with orient.
>>
>>58159177
How do you like the light?
>>
>>58160316
It's definitely shit. No doubt.

Gonna probably invert the clock soon for really no reason other than I want to.
>>
>>58160262
Foxfire is better I think, or at least less common.
>>
>>58160357
It's the exact same thing. Foxfire is just Casio's branding for EL displays in Asian markets

In the future all watches have two faces.

>>58160628
That's for relativity. One face synced for Earth, the other for space.

I'm sure we'd actually just have a more interesting version of the GMT complication.

it is probably real. my grandmother has Versace watches and they only cost like 300 dollars because they are overpriced dogshit quartz.

Although the case and bracelet on the one Versace is actually pretty decent.

After my Citizen (analog watch, gold color) was not functional, I took it to the watch repair center to replace the battery but sometimes the clock stopped working.
I took it to another center, same problem happened again, so I'd rather buy another watch.
This time either with standard battery (CR2025) or solar powered.

After browsing a while at casio's website, I'm going to buy W-800H-1AV, casio digital watch.

Pros:
- One of the latest model, so it should have the latest technology
- Cheap ($20)
- 10 years battery
- Full auto calendar, no need to setup it again on leap years
- Has day of the week (3 digits), date and month display

Cons:
- Disturbing SNZ ALM SIG at the top right
- Resin glass
- Has bloated features I won't use : Alarm, Snooze, Signal

I'm also tempted to buy MTP-VS01L-7B1, analog watch to replace my analog Citizen watch.
It's solar powered but more expensive ($32) than W-800H-1AV.

Pros :
- Leather band
- I can see 1-12 number easily
- Date display
- Mineral glass (harder than resin glass)
- Solar powered
- Low battery alert
- 3 months battery from full charge

Cons :
- None

Your opion, /wt/ ?

As you told, alarm, snooze and signal isn't used by you and you don't have any cons for the analog watch, go for the MTP bud.
