I get it anon, I want a decent AMOLED screen. I was thinking on the Zuk Z2 Pro, but I haven't read anything about it here from the anons that got one.

Turning brightness up makes or legible and usable in sunlight, but I'm not a huge fan of using my phone in bright sunlight, a habit I picked up since my Nexus 5 would go flat in an hour and a half at that brightness.

I don't know whether to make a new thread for this but I'll just give it a shot here; my mother's GS3 always had a sharp camera but she dropped it in water and now images seem blurry and it's not the lens, I think the focus is fucked (I honestly have no idea)
I took it apart right away and dried anything, so what are my options here?

Everything else is phenomenal. Phenomenal. However, the downsides are REALLY noticable and take away from the experience by a lot. Maybe just for the simple fact that everything else is phenomenal.

Size is a bit claustrophobic. You'll probably have 22GB of usable storage from the start, but you can add expandable storage.

Dropped from an SUV onto concrete and hit three corners. Only damage was a mark on one corner that was cleanable. A few small scratches on the other. And a slightly noticeable ding on the initial corner of impact.

Waterproofing, I assume, works. But I'm not going to test it. Good peace of mind though.

USB port waterproofing seal will have two big lines after lots of plugging in due to the two little fangs scratching the shit out of it.

Fast charging is amazing, but a bit inconvenient because it needs to be plugged into an outlet. Unless you get the wireless charging thing. It's more of a gimmick than anything anyways.

Size is perfect. Edge version is gimmick. Note version is explosive.

Overall I love it, but I always feel resentment when I use it. A bit of regret too. I'd give it an 8/10.

For the price, I'd suggest a Google Pixel. If you don't mind the non-expandable storage and worse screen. I think it's worth the trade-off.

If I had to choose, I'd go with the Pixel instead. Maybe the iPhone 7, but not very likely. I really love Android's openness and customizability. Plus Google's services, but if iPhone does that well enough and Samsung keeps cucking people then might as well go to Apple.

Alternately, I can use the android SDK to make a dump of the internal storage and then mount that, but still, don't know how to do it.

I know rooting/custom recovery keeps it from installing, but I had a rooted Galaxy S3 which at least showed signs that it knew an OTA was there, waiting. (As in, it would download and attempt to install, then fail.) On my G4 there's nothing - no indication that there's an update available, that my rooted phone is missing out on. It just says "Your phone is up to date."

Get a 2014 or newer Xperia flagship, gently used preowned if you can find any. I got mine for $150, no regrets. They're solid phones, the software is close to stock android and is very stable (I get uptimes in the order of months without even trying).
