When I'm playing recorded videos with my phone there's a static sound in the background. It works fine whwn I'm recording and the quality is good, but when I play the video I hear this annoying noise in the background.

The Robin is on a ridiculous sale right now on Amazon. Has a good modding community, but the phone doesn't have a microSD slot.

I have the honor 5x and its a great phone for the price if you put CM13 on it. The stock software makes it a really shitty experience and notifications are broken on EMUI 4.1 so modding the phone is a must. It also will not be getting Nougat.

My brother has a moto g4 and its a great phone, near stock android and it will be getting nougat soon. My only knock on it is the cheap plastic its made out of. Get a good case for it if you buy this one.

Did you guys install the latest poo kernel on your RN3p? It has CPU hotplugging now which keeps only 1 big and 1 small core active until more are needed, giving priority to smaller more efficient cores.

What do I look for if I want a phone that lets me root it? I got burned with my ATT Galaxy S4 because ATT and Samsung filled most of my space with their shit and locked the bootloader so I can't even clean it up. I don't want that to happen again.

Also, what should I look for if I want OS updates down the road?

I don't really like touchjizz myself but with a decent launcher it's tolerable. That's how I've been using my S7 at least and I'm very happy with this phone.

So I'm looking for an upgrade to my current shit Moto 3rd gen. Are there any good, reasonably priced (100-150$ range) phones for the virgin mobile carrier in the US? iPhone 6S

If I could describe it in one word, it would be 'mediocre'.

The design is okay, I guess, it feels nice.
The camera is just good enough, waiting for an iOS 10 jailbreak so I can shoot RAW.
The screen is decent, although you can see the pixels if you look carefully.
It's pretty fast and that's good enough for me, I don't play pretty much any games.
There's pretty much exactly storage as I need - 64GB, and I've got 10-15GB left.
iCloud's pretty nifty and it's only $1 for 50 gigs, and it makes it nigh unstealable.
Battery life is above expectations and I average 5+h SOT on a workday. It has a tendency to turn off or rapidly discharge if it's under freezing outside though.
It is also unexpectedly durable, it fell multiple times from chest height face-down onto cobblestone and didn't get almost anything besides a few scuffs, but when I dropped it onto its corner with a TPU case from knee height, I got a hairline crack - which are thankfully covered by the warranty.

I really want a smaller version of the LG V20.

Got a google pixel last month, upgrade from iphone 5s. Biggest mistake of my life. Lag, bloatware, authoritarian device policy. Only upshot is i can finally download things and occasionally make file names. Had no issues with iphone for the 3 years of service. All apps ran smoothly, safari worked a charm. But now I have apps crashing all the time, not loading, motion lag.

It'll take some getting used to, for example notifications are still pull down from top, but quick settings are pull up from bottom of screen.
