it is a bad thing because autistic linux developers try to give you the option to customize every fucking thing about your desktop down to the pixel which makes it impossible to write cohesive plugins and applications that work together and everything breaks once you change the settings from default.

windows has it right in choosing a basic dumbed down, non offensive environment with no customization. don't fucking give me the option to customize if you can't let me do it without breaking everything. give me a fast, stable environment rather than a slow unstable environment where i can customize each pixel.
