The conclusion I'm drawing is that I can't use my VPN during registration, however after that I'm fine. I've got a serious problem exposing my home IP address to any of this. Just to step in, and all memeing aside I think Apollo's recent staff decisions in general are questionable. Just from a personal point of view, I prefer a tracker that takes a more cautious approach to membership and decision making. It feels like the Apollo staff have a difficult time being firm and concise in their decision making. Membership was open for some time, "interviews" are spotty, freeleech is extended over and over, invites are set to unlimited for a period and then set back to 5 after people start complaining. Sure they're listening to what people want, but they don't seem to have much experience in running a tracker. It just comes across as somewhat amateur.
