Depends on the path you take, but generally, yes. Some people will recruit @ reddit which allows a public way to enter. Some others will allow you to interview.

It depends on the tracker. There are different forms of economy. On a hard ratio economy, yes. On a soft ratio, seeding longterm (months) is rewarded with a supplementary currency which can be exchanged for ratio. On ratioless trackers, only supplementary currency is given and there are "Hit and Run" requirements for seed time.

The DMCA would go to your VPN's provider, which may or may not ignore it depending on their location. But in general, private tracker swarms are far safer than public trackers just because of the exclusivity.

Take some time and read the rules, especially the golden ones. Seeding is essential, different trackers incentivize seeding differently though, so learn that specific trackers rules. Personally I avoid the forums and just keep my head down. I idle in the IRC as when there are problems it's the best place to get the news.

Yes use it for building ratio. Don't feel bad to delete staff picks from your client, there will be thousands of others who'll seed it. Just keep the freeleech if it's low on seeders like any other torrent.

Like PTP golden popcorn's are usually HDB encodes so you can cross seed stuff you get from PTP or HDB to either site and get bonus points.

Also don't upload stuff from public trackers as it's either already on there if it's a scene release or absolute shite. People who upload stuff to public trackers don't encode/rip the media properly so your torrent would just end up getting deleted. Find a niche and stick with it like putting shite films from CG or arthouse films from KG on PTP or whatever.

I do it on PTH too and I even had to report a transcode yesterday. Admittedly, it came from What.CD, but what I'm saying is PTH isn't perfect eiter.
I usually check only one somg of every album unless I suspect it's a transcode. It really doesn't take that much time (compared to retagging everything to your own standards) and it really improves the sites quality.
