Hey /g/entoomen,
I have been tasked with a job to create a custom case for a tablet, no manufacturers make a case to suit and I have a 3d model in CAD of the case, I would need 1000 cases in total.
It is similar to a life proof case in that there's a hard polypropylene spine with a softer rubber that goes over the top for impact resistance.
I'll 3d print a prototype but for mass manufacturing is it more viable to go with a 3d print or some type of mould that material is poured into.
Also, general case thread
My dog has a toy like that!
I'd only got for printing if it was like <10 units, for 1000 I'd go a mould
are you for real

Yeah I am getting the prototype printed but I have no idea who to even go to for mass manufacturing of these things! Anyone know of any contacts?

try china
>>>/diy/
Everybody here is a fedora tipping retard that has no money for a 3d printer. Try /diy/ if you dont want to get bombarded with "install gentoo".

Install Gentoo, it will solve any problem you have.
>>57923298
Make a mould yourself? If you have the materials, it's piss easy.
>>57923340
Install gentoo is only tech support advice, nigger.

Go to any art school near you and get someone to do the molds for you.
Unless you're in an idiot mudslime country where art is haram.

3D is terrible for mass production. Definitely go for casting.

1)measure and model
2)then measure again
3)send your model to someone to 3d print, fucking staples will do this for you
4)make sure your shitty design actually works
5)fly to shenzhen or shandong or whatever give to a cheap manufacturer to be replicated
