It's a fake Spyderco Endura!

First impressions: the action is a bit stiff/gritty, I should oil it and/or it might get smoother with use but it's perfectly usable. The blade came pretty dull so I need to sharpen it. There is some rust already on the inside of the lock, inside the guts of the knife (I can't get a good picture but it's a few spots). Lockup is absolutely rock solid, blade is centered well, the knife carries great. I'll clean the rust out, oil it and sharpen it, and it could make a pretty good part of my EDC rotation.

One thing I didn't realize about the Endura was how big of a knife it was. Here it is next to my fake PM2 and it's actually a bit longer than that knife. I should get a fake Delica next, if I can find one. It seems all the chink fakers make these days are Enduras, PM2s, and some of the more exotic Spyderco offerings.

K6000 pro costs the same as a redmi 3 pro when I bought it, but it destroys it easily.

>better SoC

I went from a redmi note 3 (SD650 2GB) to a k6000 pro and I love it. Haven't noticed much performance loss since its mostly calls/texts/web browsing /clover/music/movies.
Battery life has gone up from 8 hours SoT average over 2 days to 11 hours.

The screen looks nicer too, but camera isn't much better.

Also love that it's got stock Android without needing CM. Fuck miui.

The box came neatly packaged and bypassed customs due to bogus declarations like the hundreds before.

You get a remote, the actual controller and a retractable 3.5mm male to male cable.

Upon taking out the remote, the first thing that happened was that I tried pressing the central LED of the color wheel that indicates the current color.

Well, I pushed it in and it cracked at the slightest press. Meh.

So far I've used an Arduino with the FastLED library to control my WS2812b strip.

Changing color meant manually editing parameters in the code because I simply couldn't be bothered to spend the time of integrating commercial color wheels in my setup. I kept it at warm white.

I've also experimented with about the only useful equalizer IC for this application, MSGEQ7, to visualize music.

All common open source libraries for music visualization are eye cancer disco. I wanted some soothing dimming or slight color shifts.

Visualizing music with LED strips is insanely hard, so my expectations of the chinks pulling it off were zero in that regard.

Turns out I was right.

Friendly reminder to always hook up chink shit to an isolated experimental setup on a breadboard.

Never connect that shit directly to your expensive hardware.

The setup is straight forward. The controller gets his 5V from the same power supply as the strip does and outputs a signal on the data line.

The terminals for the wires seem to be just soldered onto the PCB within the case. They feel like they'd break off under any pressure.

Not at all impressed with outside build quality.

Remote features manual colors with color wheel, some rather stupid animations, manipulation for the animation speed and 27 music modes.

Now the deal breaker for me was the fact that there is NO DIMMING FUNCTIONALITY and only a resolution of what seem to be 128 colors, around 50 of which can reliably selected with the color wheel.

I'm unable to achieve a regular warm white, All I can get is orange or some green-ish yellow.

Here's a video of the color wheel in action.

It's not too bad but impractical for everyday use.

I really wish they would have included some preset colors that could be used for regular lighting.

There is a 4000k cold white mode available, but no good warm white.

I just purchased a U-Phoria UMC202HD($45 used but but like new) for my sightly modded BM-800.

Here is a small audio sample, sadly this room isn't quiet, but still this give you an idea of the low self noise of this microphone for such retarded low price, anyone telling you this microphone has a loud self noise is retarded or needs to re-solder his BM-800 diaphragm or XLR connections, already got 2 with those problems, but after just re-soldering the cables the problem went away.

The biggest letdown however is the music visualization.

I'm actually considering filing a dispute on Aliexpress.

This shit doesn't work at all.
It does the same animations whether there is any audio input or not.

I didn't even bother to record it because it's eye cancer inducing random color flashing.

All in all it wasn't worth it. I wouldn't recommend this thing. The only thing this thing got me was headaches.

When I was researching music visualization for these strips the only options were fuckexpensive $300+ proprietary solutions and fucking around for 100 hours of your life to make it yourself.

If it would have presets for warm white or programmable colors and dimming, I would use it.

But since it doesn't have that and the music visualization, which is the primary selling point, is a fucking scam, I officially rate this product meh/10 and consider myself semi-chinked despite having no expectations.

Okay, just finished testing my modded BM-800(noise removal mod) and a stock BM-800.

When using the old Somake 7.1 audio card, there is no difference I can spot with my Xiaomi Hybrid, but when plugged both mics in the same position with the same gain on a decent 48V Phantom Powered audio interface (Behringer UMC202HD) there is a HUGE difference in self noise between the modded BM-800 and the stock one.

The stock BM-800 is okay for a garage bands that will never play their records outside their garage, gaymers, and other non professional stuff, while the modded BM-800 is good enough for semi-pro stuff like small recording studios and home studios.

So if you're whiling to spend 3 minutes of your life and $0.1 dollars worth of material, to transform your good enough microphone into an actual studio microphone you should do the RC Filter Circuit I posted some weeks ago.

Here is a small raw audio sample, both micriphones recorded at the same time, same gain, same interface using audacity as a stereo track then split into two mono tracks:

As you can see I ended up soldering the capacitor to the pad next to the square pad next to R5 instead of C5 since it was cleaner, and if the image isn't clear I cut the track beween Q6 and R14 and added a 470 Ohms resistor between them instead.

Note: You don't need to cut both market spots, just cut one side, I cut mine next to the 1UF mark.

You have either a faulty USB port or some USB device making that noise in the USB ports and USB audio devices pick it, I had that problem in the pass, try plugging the somake into another USB port, if you have 2.0 and 3.0, try changing between them and see if the weird noise goes away.

RN3P owner here, miui is trash. CM13 takes the battery life from 8 hours up to 3 days with similar usage patterns. Still haven't gotten the fingerprint scanner to work though. I don't miss it.

On cm did you set a lock pattern? You need to do this first before fp options show up.

Which BM do you recommend? Also what's necessary to power one? Will the XLR to 3.5mm be fine off my sound card or do I need an external device?

They repair phones, but they do not sell refurbished phones as brand new. The buyer might have clicked on a repaired phone thinking it is brand new and then gets angry because he is embarrassed because of his mistake.
>>
>>57878045
It does, I used it in cm a long time ago, but mine is fpc 2010 or whatever not goodix. It even works better in cm than MIUI because you can set multiple finger prints to unlock with either hand.

Look guys, I am going to buy phone probably today. I wish you could tell me first-hand experiences and if I'm gonna regret it. Also specific things that sucked. If I changed my mind, I will spend more and buy something else.
It's just that I'd like to believe that I can get okay phone for that price. Keep in mind I'm not a heavy user. I need browser, music (good audio output), managing docs over clouds and stuff.

I know there are many phones able to deliver what I need, but those phones are either older or not worthy to pay attention next to phones released in 2016.

I got a redmi 3 pro that died just before buyer protection ran out.

Was able to get a partial refund though, so it wasn't 100% loss. Bought a k6000 pro to replace I like it more.

I don't trust xiaomi anymore. Especially now that they've been proven to be sending user information back to China, no matter where you are.

K6000 Pro camera photos look dark and the color reproduction looks off.

I'd rather buy a Zuk Z2
>>
>>57878036
All but BM-8000 the spherical capsule makes the sound high pitched since it has a tunnel like form that traps the sound waves, all pros I have show this mics hated the BM8000 and loved the BM-700 over the BM-800 and BM-600 because it pick ups the sound more life like due the shape of the capsule (but said 700,800 and 660 were pretty good).
>>
>>57878112
I like that the k6000 pro has a better screen(720p vs 1080p) with better color accuracy too. I also love that it's 6000mAh so my SoT has gone up from 7-9 hours to 11-12 hours.

I do miss the 5" size of the redmi though, easier to use with one hand, but it's a shame that as a phone it turned out to be so unreliable and fail so soon.

>>57878146
I'd recommend the zuk z2 instead if it's in your budget. I am willing to post camera samples from my k6000 pro if you're interested. It's not bad in daylight, just very weak for low light.
>>
>>57878139
I think the camera is fine, but maybe it's because I upgraded from an alcatel and have never had a good one.

As far as battery goes, I't much better that stock. I did just kill something in my current rom if you wanna suggest one.
>>
>>57878153

Not him but I have a $120 budget plus $5-7 for accessories like screen protector (not tempered glass, too expensive) and case or flip cover.
>>
>>57878178
You will have no problems, he just got bad luck with a defective unit, but hell he could just solder any L2 type transistor in there and fix his BM-700, a wrong type is better than nothing, and bby his sound sample it seems like Q5 missing is fucking with his volume, so he is cranking it up and that makes the white noise worse..
